POSAIDON PROVIDES MORE THAN 1,000 HP IN THE S 63 COUPÉ

For those for whom the standard output of the Mercedes-AMG S 63 4MATIC+ Coupé with 612 hp is not enough, Posaidon is now offering a performance upgrade of the V8 bi-turbo engine in four different stages. A maximum of 940 hp and 1,280 Nm are currently being offered, but more than 1,000 hp are already in preparation.

Two performance levels for the international market

In level 1 for 29,990 euros, Posaidon offers a performance upgrade as the S 63 RS 830+ to 880 hp and 1,200 Nm, which catapults the coupé to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. To do this, the engine, transmission and drive train control units are adapted. The top speed is limited to 350 km/h due to the tire approval.

In the second expansion stage for a whopping 52,000 euros, 940 hp and 1,280 Nm are offered. To do this, both cylinder heads and valve seats are machined and a water / methanol injection system is installed in parallel (optionally with an individual tank).

Less performance with TÜV approval

What slows down is the approval for public roads in Germany, especially since not all modifications are StVZO-compliant. With approval or TÜV approval, the S 63 RS 830 - without “+” in the name - is offered with 830 hp and 1,100 Nm, which sprints to the 100 km/h mark in three seconds. The top speed remains at 350 km/h. For the street-legal variant you ask for 24,000 euros - including acceptance by the TÜV. Pure software tuning is available for 4,200 euros, which conjures up 700 hp and 950 Newton meters from the 8-cylinder. Here the vehicle accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and runs up to 330 km/h.

All of the above performance levels are of course not only available from POSAIDON for the S-Class Coupé, but also for all other AMG series with the M177 unit. In particular, these are the E 63 (213), GLE 63 (167), GT 63 (X290), G 63 (463), S 63 (222) and GLS 63 (X167). POSAIDON also offers similar upgrades for the C 63 (205) and GLC 63 (253) as well as all AMG GTs equipped with M178 engines.

A bit too low for my taste, but the car is just so god damn gorgeous.

Yeah, a bit too low and wheels a tad too big, but it looks like the closest we'll come to a Concept 6 Cabrio for the road.

Why is it always the case for self promotion you get a shot of my very expensive watch and luxury gear the ever questionable LV Man bag.

Still a beautiful Mercedes.

FYI - the FL AMGs are selling at original MSRP or above. It’s a crazy car market, but I’ve never seen this with the previous S/CL coupés

It's an unusual market for sure, but there is also no longer any alternative that combines the attributes of it so adeptly. The prices they are commanding here are also incredible.

I thought I’d take an absolute bath on the value when I ordered back in 2017. Now it’s looking like a nice investment, marking an end of a era.

MB made a mistake dropping the namesake imo… the c217 was the most popular of their modern big coupés and women love the convertible - a lot of people in my area did lease buyouts and now own them.

If they make an electric car that literally looks like a true S-Class, people would be all over it and would forgo ICE. Not interested in driving an upside down bathtub looking EQ.

When I took in my car for service at MB of Manhattan, there was an S600 Maybach convertible and I was admiring it and the SLR next to it more than the new cars in the showroom.

Yeah I find myself really missing Benzes that are out of production. Only a precious few new ones excite me. I’m hoping the new E and CLE put some luster back in the showroom. The new C is a gorgeous car on the road, but they forgot the I6.

Just face it. You’ll look more dapper in a W124, and it won’t disappoint.

But I do agree with you, I am hoping from the new E and CLA forward things improve. In the meantime, they’ve made so many amazing legendary cars, and you live in the states and have access to non rusted bargains .

If I had money to burn I’d restore a C123 or T123

I can imagine. I hadn't seen one in ages, but last week there was one parked in front of a hotel in my city. So very special.....

The SLR is such a gorgeous car and the AMG One looks like a lump of sh!t compared to this beauty

Hotel Des Indes is not a hotel. it's THE hotel in your city. The place where history has been made frequently.
PS I wonder if I would be allowed park my car (a mere S) in front of it ;-)
