POSAIDON PROVIDES MORE THAN 1,000 HP IN THE S 63 COUPÉ
For those for whom the standard output of the Mercedes-AMG S 63 4MATIC+ Coupé with 612 hp is not enough, Posaidon is now offering a performance upgrade of the V8 bi-turbo engine in four different stages. A maximum of 940 hp and 1,280 Nm are currently being offered, but more than 1,000 hp are already in preparation.
Two performance levels for the international market
In level 1 for 29,990 euros, Posaidon offers a performance upgrade as the S 63 RS 830+ to 880 hp and 1,200 Nm, which catapults the coupé to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. To do this, the engine, transmission and drive train control units are adapted. The top speed is limited to 350 km/h due to the tire approval.
In the second expansion stage for a whopping 52,000 euros, 940 hp and 1,280 Nm are offered. To do this, both cylinder heads and valve seats are machined and a water / methanol injection system is installed in parallel (optionally with an individual tank).
Less performance with TÜV approval
What slows down is the approval for public roads in Germany, especially since not all modifications are StVZO-compliant. With approval or TÜV approval, the S 63 RS 830 - without “+” in the name - is offered with 830 hp and 1,100 Nm, which sprints to the 100 km/h mark in three seconds. The top speed remains at 350 km/h. For the street-legal variant you ask for 24,000 euros - including acceptance by the TÜV. Pure software tuning is available for 4,200 euros, which conjures up 700 hp and 950 Newton meters from the 8-cylinder. Here the vehicle accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and runs up to 330 km/h.
All of the above performance levels are of course not only available from POSAIDON for the S-Class Coupé, but also for all other AMG series with the M177 unit. In particular, these are the E 63 (213), GLE 63 (167), GT 63 (X290), G 63 (463), S 63 (222) and GLS 63 (X167). POSAIDON also offers similar upgrades for the C 63 (205) and GLC 63 (253) as well as all AMG GTs equipped with M178 engines.
