GLS [Official] Mercedes-Benz GLS (X167)

The Mercedes-Benz GLS, formerly Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, is a full-size luxury crossover SUV produced by Mercedes-Benz since 2006. The GLS is considered the flagship of the marque's SUV lineup, although the body-on-frame G-Class (originally intended for military off-roading but also offered in luxurious trims) is more expensive and has been in production longer.

Not sure why MBUSA won't allow customers to spec the GLS 450 with the AMG package. It's a really dumb decision IMO. They should also think about GLS 500 with the 429hp I6 from the 53 and Euro S500 as a bridge between over the big gap between the 450 and the 580.

M

It eventually will. My guess: those who really want an amg pack will be "forced" to step up to the 580. Once sales plateau/slow down, then you'll see 6cyl models in amg bits.

LOL, I guess it's "dramatic" to point out that this is how the German luxury makes do business by incentivizing the customer to upgrade to the upper end of their budget. I mean, from a business perspective, that makes sense. From a consumer's perspective...depends. Some are happy to spend money until they get exactly what they want. Some want to keep as much money in their wallet while getting what they want.

maybe it looks more modern ;)

That black trim around the wheel wells is tedious and this design is lacking something. I just cannot put my finger on it.

BMW has me sold on the x7 40i.
