GLK-Class (X204) [Official] Mercedes-Benz GLK

The Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class (X204) is a compact luxury crossover SUV produced from 2008 to 2015. It is succeeded by the Mercedes-Benz GLC (X253/C253). Production: 2008-2015. Model years: 2010-2015.
Interior is attractive but the exterior colour in combination with the non colour coded bumpretts makes the car look disastrous.

PS: The blue one is smoking hot. Give it a beige interior and I'm sold.

BTW isn't the Q5 due today as well, the 18th?

I thought there were supposed to be two trim levels that were supposed to vary greatly though...:eusa_thin

Geez Artist, getting a little excited there are we? :D

Edit: I must say I really like how the rear wheel arch came together.

The black one looks good, the other one not so.

I just realized the side treatment is very similar is the Forester.

Good eyes..its very similar..:usa7uh:

Now to my opinion on the GLK:
I think its a very cool SUV..i like the boxy SUV´s from MB more..
for example the G and the GL.. not so much the ML..
so im all for this..
The interior is bitchin.. i love it.. looks rugged and luxurious at the same time..
Most importantly it looks helluva lot better than its only competition (X3)
But there is a new kid on the block (Q5) soon so i lets see how it holds up against that..
But all in all..im pleased..
And most importantly it looks rock solid :usa7uh:

The vehicle with the plastic bumper pieces is terrible. I'm sorry, but those pieces looks awful.

The blue (or black, whatever the hell it is) looks much better.

Very handsome inside and out, but thankfully that bumper treatment is optional.

Woohoo .. I Luv it I luv it I Luv it. Looks great. OMG My wife will kill me to have this car. I showed her the first pics of "Sex and the City" show where the GLK was first scooped and she totally luved it. Unfortuntly she just got her infiniti EX35 so I guess maybe this will be next or the new X3. I wish she could wait since this will be her ride. Imagine my Garage with white X6 + Blue GLK ...

2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class, GLK300, GLK350, GLK280, GLK 220 CDI Blue Efficiency

Mercedes is the first to admit the all-new GLK crossover is another urban SUV that is unlikely to spend much time in the woods. It may attempt to look tough, but its C-class genes ensure it is painless on the well-traveled road where it belongs. On the road it is “perfect,” Mercedes says. Off-road it is “balanced.”

But does it look tough? The GLK’s strangely tall greenhouse evokes the similarly proportioned Jeep Commander, and we’re heard it referred to as the “Mercedes Forester.”

But the GLK, to be built in Bremen, Germany, is a convincing little brother to the GL-class. The interior is surprisingly edgy and fashionable—Cadillac-like in places.

This is one of the few Mercedes models that won’t get an AMG version—the others being the GL and the A- and B-class which are not sold in the U.S. The R63 AMG was crossed off order forms a while ago.

One Choice Only for U.S.

In the U.S., where the GLK does not go on sale until January 2009 as a 2010 model, there will be only one version at launch: the GLK350 with a 3.5-liter V-6 gasoline engine good for 268 horsepower and a top speed of 143 mph. Mercedes claims a 0-to-60-mph time of 6.5 seconds. The SUV has a seven-speed automatic transmission and available 4MATIC full-time four-wheel drive. Mercedes estimates it will get 23 mpg on the highway.

For further fuel efficiency, a diesel engine is being considered in the future. A likely candidate seemingly is the 3.0-liter V-6 diesel that is currently available here in the E-class, M-class, R-class, and GL.

Europeans get a 2009 GLK this fall—orders will be taken starting in July. For this market, consumers have a choice of four engines. The 3.5-liter V-6 is one of two gasoline mills; the other being the 3.0-liter V-6 in the GLK280 (228 hp and a top speed of 131 mph.

Many Europeans will opt for the GLK220 CDI Blue Efficiency with an all-new four-cylinder diesel for which Mercedes has big plans. Rated at 168 horsepower, it gives the GLK a top speed of 127mph and covers 0-to-62 mph in 8.8 seconds. Fuel consumption is a decent 34.1 mpg. By comparison, the Mercedes-Benz Vision GLK BlueTec hybrid concept shown earlier this year at the Geneva auto show, with the same diesel engine, is rated at 39.8 mpg.

The 3.0-liter V-6 in the GLK320 CDI is the fun diesel. Rated at 221 hp, its top speed is 137 mph.

The GLK concept unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit has a 2.2-liter turbo-diesel engine with 170 horsepower, so we still think a turbo-diesel is a possibility for the future. And we would love to see a direct-injection version of the 3.5-liter V-6 with more than 300 horsepower in the future, but Mercedes has not made any such official noises.

No Shortcuts

The standard equipment and option list is huge, with all the safety bells and whistles to give an upscale soccer mom her much-wanted sense of security. Amenities include an adjustable steering column and seats and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as an optional rear-seat entertainment system with a DVD player.
