GLE (W167) [Official] Mercedes-Benz GLE (W167)

The Mercedes-Benz W167 is the fourth generation GLE range of mid-size luxury SUVs. Model codes: W167 (SUV), C167 (SUV coupé). Production: October 2018–. Model years: 2020-
Engineers work within the parameters of the manufacture. My Grandfather was an engineer for Ford and holds several patents. So, to imply this is an anti-engineer statement is absurd. A good design team gathers information from the users and those that distribute the product and instruct engineers to work from that. For example, this suspension could have...
I don't believe that Rolf was directing this at anyone in particular - definitely not you - and, yes, it is a bit of generalisation. "My" BMW salesman and his peers at my dealer are leagues ahead of those at other dealers in the vicinity in terms of product knowledge and sales technique. It's clear that they, like you, are professional. Many sales people aren't, unfortunately.

I firmly believe that without sales you don't have a business and manufacturers do need to pay more attention to the hands-on consumer insight which sales people have - well, maybe from the good ones at least.

Good lord, picking nits. One the camera is moving pretty fast, so you don't get a clear look at the buttons.

they are clearly black plastic...same as the A class if you dont pick THERMOTRONIC
Picking nits for this starting price...ok, maybe you don't care because you are not looking to buy an GLE...thats hilarious since the c class has galvanised buttons

Look at the seat controls on the door panel... Also black plastic... Seems to be an entry model, I guess.

Still D.R.E. ?

Why does the new GLE get this roundish, almost oval, grille? Doesn't seem to fit the rest of the car very well at all. Why not just get a family "predator" face and be done w/ it? Not that I am a huge fan of the predator look but this oval look is even worse.

Mercedes will be printing even more money once this goes on sale around the world, my goodness. Here is finally a GLE I give a damn about. Now it's time for the GLE53 and GLE63. I love the way he says Mercedes-Benz King TV lol.

The GLB and the GLS will keep this going well into 2020 at the time a new S will be presented.

I hope MB offers some premium leather options on this. I haven't come across any photos or videos showing Nappa Leather.

I suspect this or the X5 will replace dad's S in a couple of years, especially if the SWB S is ditched. The GLS or X7 will also likelye be too big.

Not even a mention of the car yet on the MB website here in South Africa, I guess is far off. I cannot wait any longer

She was not the most interesting presenter to listen to but she highlighted alot of interesting features on the car that I didnt see in other videos. The amount of adjustment for the lumber support as well as the seat heating is amazing and also the sat nav looks really clear and responsive. The test car she had looked gorgeous in that colour and interior spec, the seats looked plush and well padded with soft leather. Very nice car the new GLE, cant wait to see full road tests soon.

Ca t wait to see this in UK I am sure it should be about time we get it now.. I enjoyed that review was fun..

Saw one on the road last night. Front looks very nice at night, rear looks weak to me because of the taillight graphics. I think the upgraded GLC taillight graphics look much more substantial and stronger... The triangle square combination just doesn't exude strength for me.

I wonder if the climate control strip has a metallic look as standard or you must go with THERMOTRONIC to have that like on A class
I wonder if that is also flimsy like on an a class...if you press very gentle its ok, but if you press normal/harder it moves on the a class..i wonder if they up their quality for this GLE class

Recently, had the chance to drive this 'special' tester. As you can see, there is this f**king thermotronic and it's actually gonna be standard in most versions. Also, it is as flimsy as in the A class. Disappointing. Comfort, however, is really good, even without the fancy active suspension stuff. (X5, however, is not much worse in terms of suspension comfort.)
Nevertheless, when equipped nicely, I guess I‘d go for the GLE this time around. It is bringing me down, style- and drive-wise. If I want sport, I go for a swim or take a ride in something that is below 1,45m in height.
