The Mercedes-Benz GLE, formerly Mercedes-Benz M-Class (designated with the "ML" nomenclature), is a mid-size luxury SUV produced by the German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz since 1997. In terms of size, it is slotted in between the smaller GLC and the larger GLS, the latter with which it shares platforms.

New grille treatment reminds the new E-Class.. what’s your opinion?

I hope they truly make changes that will keep this model popular. It’s going to be old and trying to compete against much newer competitors.

The changes here make it look like it'll continue to be a rather handsome mid-size (lol) SUV.
Interior needs to be good.

The GLE has stood the test of time very well with its design. Despite been 7 years old now, it still looks extremely handsome and, in my opinion, doesn't need an exterior facelift. But in order to be on the market for another 3 years so would take it to 10 years old it's understandable that Mercedes will want to change its appearance to bring it in line with current models. The grill I think will have a combo of E-class and CLA ICE design elements but the grill is also taller so it fits in with the new GLC EV grill.

The exterior has aged extremely well, as has most of the last 2 generations of Mercedes ICE offerings. Perhaps the current generation of cars are even more timeleless than the preceding. I think Mercedes will manage to keep the exterior fresh enough. A mercedes doesn't need to be trendy. It just needs to look classy and expensive.

I'm most concerned about the interior. I don't believe just a new dash is sufficient for a full 3 year run. New door cards and transmission tunnels should have also been invested in. Unless they step up the game massively in terms of finishes and trim availabilities.

It looks like BMW has already done more with the dashboard of the X5, X7 and XM.

The GLE is still one of the best looking medium to large sized SUVs around, especially viewed from the rear, those bulging haunches look great. The interior is dated however and will be in for some changes, but will these changes be enough to see it till 2030?

We don’t have a choice. It’s a strong seller tho. I think we judge cars harder than the typical customer.

Just a fresh owner of one I think it’s a beautiful SUV especially in my spec lol

I know the interior is now 6 or 7 years old but I don’t think it’s dated

Yes the MBUX is not as good as my GLC but I mean in reality it’s still very good and very easy to use.

The mbux will definitely be updated

I actually think the interior is unique from most other new gen MBs so in a way it’s nice

I just love driving my GLE400d

Since I have it it’s almost as if I sit. Drive my GLC
