Sounds like Mercedes is STILL having supplier/quality issues with the GLE at the plant. This launch has been awful. Lots of GLE's being held back as a result. Hopefully this gets straightened out as GLS production ramps up.

The reviews make me think the suspension needs to come back in for a re-tune also. The GLS reviews have been the opposite, buttery ride + better than expected handling. What the hell happened to the GLE? I still say Mercedes is doing too much too fast. Slow down and ensure proper cars in customers hands. MBUX might need to be simplified too, based on some reviews, but I have yet to try the system at any length yet.

Edit: Just looked at the August sales numbers, GLE was up 48%!!

Should be even higher! MBUX's shortcuts favor you using voice commands and understanding the layout. If you choose not to use voice commands its going to have a very steep learning curve.

The ride/handling mix of the standard air suspension is a bit baffling. The eABC helps tremendously though, I can confirm that.

IAA 2019: GLE 350 DE 4MATIC - COMPLETED JUMP IN THE E-RANGE

On the occasion of the IAA 2019 in Frankfurt, Mercedes-Benz will be presenting the GLE 350 de 4MATIC for the first time, which will make the next leap in range as a plug-in hybrid. Thanks to its 31.2 kWh battery, the GLE generates more than 100 km of electric range, while the maximum electric speed is 160 km / h.

GLE 350 DE 4MATIC: E-TRAVEL UP TO 160 KM / H POSSIBLE
The significantly greater range of the GLE 350 de 4MATIC compared to other plug-in hybrids points the way to a more pronounced e-driving experience. A special bodyshell of the rear end and a modified rear axle make room for the big battery. There is no level in the trunk, and the volume is generously generous with up to 1,915 liters. Not only the long range increases the share of electric rides, but also the fast reloading on the way. The SUV has a COMBO charging socket for AC / DC and DC / DC charging. It is located in the left side wall, symmetrical to the fuel filler flap on the right side of the vehicle. It is possible to charge the battery in appropriate DC charging stations in approx. 20 minutes (10-80 percent SoC / charge level) or in approx. 30 minutes (10-100 percent SoC).

As the largest member of the EQ Power family, the GLE 350 de 4MATIC particularly benefits from the latest technology. This also includes a high potential due to the possibility of recuperation over all four wheels with a concomitant maximum recuperation torque of 1,800 Nm. In this mode, most driving situations can be controlled by the sole operation of the accelerator pedal. Also as a plug-in hybrid, the GLE offers an unlimited towing capacity of up to 3,500 kg. The Trailer Allocation Assistant makes maneuvering easy, even for the inexperienced. It automatically regulates the steering angle on the towing vehicle

GLE 350 DE 4MATIC: TECHNICAL DATA
Looking at the technical data of the GLE 350 de 4MATIC, the plug-in hybrid has an OM 654 4-cylinder diesel engine with 143 kW / 194 hp (at 3,800 rpm). as well as 400 Nm of torque (at 1,600-2,800 rpm). The rated output of the electric motor is 100 kW (440 Nm), with a system output of 235 kW / 320 hp and 700 Nm. So motorized accelerates the vehicle within 6.8 seconds to 100 km / h and reaches its top speed at 210 km / h (maximum speed with electric drive up to 160 km / h). The combined consumption is theoretical 1.1 liters per 100 km, combined CO2 emissions at 29 g / km (power consumption 25.4 kWh / 100 km - range e-drive NEDC 106 km, according to WLTP 90-99 km.) ,

That's what happens when your whole experience of cars is delivered solely via YouTube videos. He must spend over eight hours per day on the internet, and he relentlessly posts videos and photos, yet seems to lack any real world experience, hence questioning what's happening with the bonnet in the video.

My M4 used to be a pain to shut the bonnet/hood, because it was lightweight and it used to bounce off the two metal clasps which kept it closed.

Some cars you dont drop the bonnet closed (slam shut) from a relatively high height. You have to lower it to the catch and then press on the bonnet to close. Gently lol.

Roof Spoiler for Mercedes-Benz GLE – Option Code D11

The all-new 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class is here! It has actually been out for a few months but supply has been very limited. We are just starting to get vehicles in stock for more than a day at a time! With this new supply we are also seeing colors and options that have not been available. I’m still waiting for my first E-ACTIVE Body Control vehicle! I can’t wait to see it dance!

One option that I have yet to see in person is D11 – Roof Spoiler. I do have one on order for a client so I went in search of good pictures. After scouring dealer websites for inventory pictures and not finding the angles I wanted, the accessories department at MBUSA was kind enough to supply me with these images. Notice – the top image also features the Black Side Cladding – D24. I think the featured vehicle is Mojave Silver but that could be a lighting trick. It could also be Selenite Grey.

The Accessory Roof Spoiler adds some additional length to the roof line and a sporty, perforated look. It will always be painted to match the body color of the GLE. Technically these are European images but compared to the pictures I have seen of US spec cars they are an accurate representation.

It is installed at the Vehicle Prep Center if you order it with the vehicle and the cost is $600. It can be added to the vehicle any time before it reaches the prep center. Or, it could be added at the dealer but there would be additional cost because we have to paint them when they arrive. This is true of most spoilers by the way. It is a common add-on with the sedans or coupes. Generally they are $600 for the parts and then it costs us about $300 more to paint it.
