Mercedes will be able to print money for next 10 years on the back of this thing. I am surprised though they didn't give it the full "560" treatment, but that will surely appear in what will be a long line of facelifts. G63 AMG will appear at NYC in April I'm betting, along with the U.S. premier of the AMG GT Sedan. New G65 will surely come as will another G650 and G550 4x4-2. They almost can't mess this up.

I like it very much, with th exception of the side mirrors that do not blend well with rest. Best thing about it is that it doesn't have much of this sensual purity thing and that means we will see less of gordon wagner.

Excellent. While it looks old on the outside everything is new. Current owners will be exceptionally pleased with the upgrades throughout the car.

Sadly this is not what 97.2561% of customers will buy the new G-Class for.

Air suspension is not robust enough for proper off-roading and has been the undoing of the Land Rover Discovery as a trusted, purpose-use off-roader down here in SA.
Many reports of failed suspension out in Botswana and Namibia where a lot of the hardcore off-road enthusiasts head to. Air suspension systems are also prone to overheating in severe use.

I think your question needs to read instead: "Is there any extreme offroader that has air suspension and notable wheel articulation?

Your answer would then be no. Land Rover will contest this assertion citing their new Discovery but that's not anywhere in the league of a G-Class in terms of off-road ability.

That's what I thought. While MB have modernised the G throughout and made it more civilian, off-road capability is clearly prioritized over comfort.

Having watched a few videos of i driving on rocks, it's not a barbie in high heels.
