Just like the following EQS SUV , a pumped GLC...Why should it be?
It’s apparent by now, that EQS has absolutely nothing to do with the letter S and what it stands for. It’s pure marketing.

Source? me here? Or something more definitive? In the first quarter of 2022, Mercedes delivered around 5,000 EQS models

I don't think that there will be another EQS. Next s-class is going to be fully electric only, so what's the point of using the EQS name instead of the S-class badge?I wonder if the next EQS will look back to the W140 for inspiration?
Ah, so my math was not off!![]()
Mercedes EQE richtiger Produktionshochlauf erst im 2. Halbjahr 2022
Der Mercedes EQE (V295) läuft seit Jahresbeginn in Bremen vom Band – so richtig los geht es erst ab dem 2. Halbjahr 2022jesmb.de
So silly of Mercedes to waste S-Class equity on this jellybean. I get that the W223 probably was not developed with full-electric in mind but goodness is the EQS such a missed opportunity. Similar story with the GLS/GLS Maybach: The S in "GLS or EQS" should mean more to Mercedes as it's there most iconic model. You can't just throw that letter around all willy nilly and expect customers to fall for it.I don't think that there will be another EQS. All these sub-brands like EQ, BMW i or Audi e-tron will be obsolete at some point.
It may be that they become obsolete and return to the same or that the ones that are there prevail, I don't think they even know, but momentarily and given the speed of change they serve their purposeI don't think that there will be another EQS. It is not just ugly plastics either, it is so horribly put together.

Some really interesting feedback from a guy that I respect like few others.
