EQS (V297) [Official] Mercedes-Benz EQS

The Mercedes-Benz EQS (V297) is a battery electric full-size luxury liftback car produced by Mercedes-Benz Group and part of the Mercedes-Benz EQ family. Production: May 2021- Model years: 2022–
Theoretically yes but in practice it seems that designing an EV faces even more restrictions: the drag coefficient, the battery in the floor increasing the height significantly. One needs to look at the EQS to see where all the drawbacks are.
Definitely, though I think maximizing the efficiencies from aerodynamics has grown in emphasis in the last 20 years, whether ICEVs, HEVs, or BEVs. But it's definitely even more so with BEVs as to advertise max achievable range in order to combat "range anxiety."

Perfection ??
Maybe the best shot ever.

That is a good picture. It was interesting listening to my previously local salesperson give a sales pitch and overview of the EQS. I actually think it looks decent to me in this video that seems to have been shot with an iphone:

Really interested in seeing what the AMG version is like, and how far AMG will take it.

In other words we wanna see if AMG is going for a 2 sec 0-60 time. I'll settle for 2.5s with the luxury this car has over the Tesla.

That’s one area, yes, but also from an aesthetic perspective, might help the EQS’s design. Personally find 0-60 times useless, but the handling, will it be closer to Model S or Taycan? Will the AMG get it’s own ‘unique’ motors/battery pack? Things along those lines.

You'd need to wait for the AMG electric cars if you're looking for a Taycan competitor.

Absolutely.. on my recent experiences what I felt is most of new Merc cars are not as photogenic as earlier models, or we have to click it from very unconventional angles.

Never before had a car generated hatred for me, much less a new Mercedes, the current SL made me angry when I saw it because they had lost the mojo, but this is a shame to the design and more for Mercedes, those horse cart wheels, how easy is in everything.

First video I hear and they say polarizing, love or hate, a lot of hatred and little love.
What until now no one has posted or written or on video is someone who saw it and said that it is cute or artistic or something more than rubbish, is that hate?

Good photograph.

And no...the EQS is not ugly. But it will never be pretty. It will simply take quite a while for many to get used to its' odd exterior.

  • Agree
Reactions: Ozy
Can we sign a petition somewhere to compel Mercedes to stop this one-bow design language once and for all? The way it’s currently looking, the EQE most likely won’t even be the last one-bow car. Probably the next 2026 EQC sedan will be another clone of the EQS.

for me its not pretty, it’s beautiful
so speak for yourself

I suspect that more than a few may agree with me.

However, you appear to be fanatically enamoured. Which is absolutely fine. Don't forget to disinfect your screen after viewing EQS images.

this is so irrelevant

Look…i had an E55 AMG, CLS63, S600, CL600, many S500 (also the BE engine). When did i really needed the 0-100? Never. NE VER.
Maybe sometimes to show it to my friends for fun, but in real life, never.
The EQS has 4.3s, thats how an S65 V221mopf had it. What do you want more? Even that is something, you will never use, except if you are a teenager and would like to drag race from the traffic light, which would be ridiculous.
If we are talking acceleration, then for example the elasticity is more important (80-120 kmh etc.) if you need to overtake someone etc., but even for that the EQS is more then enough.

your question is very childish, it reminds me, when we were kids and were checking the tacho scale on cars ??‍♂️

Tesla can make 0-100 in 1 second if they want, it will still be a shitty american car with desperately build quality.
What i am trying to say…there are more important things, then some 0-100…its the build quality, the safety features, the tech gadgets, comfort, sound insulation etc etc

i mean…how old are you? Come on..
Grow up man…
Sometimes i really ask myself with who am i talking here…maybe some kids, that even dont had a Mercedes in their lifes (or even a drivers license) ??‍♂️

I have two main issues, the first is the black space where a grill should be, this unresolved, I really don't know how they can fix this, the second is the messy details where the A pillar, door, window and rear view mirror meet, it's just messy, the quarter light is the culprit it needs to go. Other than that it's just a very large car, there interior is really where it wins and wins big over everyone else sub Rolls Royce or Bentley.
