EQC (N293) [Official] Mercedes-Benz EQC

The Mercedes-Benz EQC (N293) is a battery electric compact luxury crossover SUV and the first member of the battery electric Mercedes EQ family. It is succeeded by the GLC with EQ Technology (X540). Production: 2019–2023
The problem I found with the EQC is the very small luggage area, it's a tight fit for our dog, whereas the E-tron has a lot more room.

What I really want, what I really really want is a BEV station wagon, I don't want a BEV SUV, as soon as there is a proper BEV E class touring, A6 avant, 5 touring, V90, I'll make the jump.

An Audi A6 Allroad and E-class All Terrain with BEV powertrain would probably be the most practical and ideal cars to buy rather than an BEV SUV. They combine the load space and some offroad capability.

The closest one you can buy now is a E300de T-model Plug In Hybrid, with 45km of real world electric range and 3ltr/100km real world fuel consumption, but that is RWD and does 6sec to 100km/h.

German press (Handelsblatt) is reporting EQC sales are so far behind MB internal targets: (1,400 units sold in Europe during 2019 vs 6,000 initially expected). These pale when compared to Audi e-tron, which is selling 7 times more.

Come to think of it...

I believe I have yet to actually see an EQC in an "in-the-metal, on the road, in traffic" environment. And while the eTron is hardly commonplace, I do see them around town relatively frequently.

It will be interesting to see how BMWs' iNext fares when it finds its' way into the market.

Actually, it is almost the same case here in Spain. I have seen 3 or 4 e-tron and yet no EQC.

It will be interesting to see also what happens with the sales figures of the EQS and EQE, which I believe are potencially the replacements of cars like the CLS and the coupe and cabrio versions of the C-Class and E-Class.

Yes indeed. M-B has quite a bit riding on the success of the dedicated BEV-platformed EQE/EQS. In terms of design, it appears that they are embracing a relatively bold approach. Gutsy.

You don’t see many EQC‘s yet cause Mercedes battery supply was very limited while it is supposed to be much higher for 2020, enough for 50000 EQC this year if I remember correctly.

In Germany the EQC had in 2019 very high lease rates. Lease rates of more than 1200€ per month were common, now offers in the 500€-700€ are available.

The 4 matic system doesn't perform too well in these...
It has nothing to do with the normal 4 matic system. Here each axle has its own motor and the traction is only a matter of the spread of torque between the right and the left tire and not between the axles, which is crucial when only one powering source is available.

Pretty impressive aerodynamics for an SUV, CD-0.27
