That car looks beautiful..Pity we don't see this spec in UK.

To quote my own post, nearly one year on, still no sign of the new inline 6 petrol in either the E class or the S class.
I believe the first appearance of the In line 6 petrol will be in the E50 AMG which has to be shown this year for the 50 years anniversary of AMG

This always gets to me.....AMG has been Mercedes since 2005; not exactly 50 years old. Before the MB ownership they were a tuner for the tasteless.

MB is creating fake news.

This is a bit of a awkward one, as AMG was formed by three former MB engineers and wad the go to tuner which I think MB endorsed as well so therefore the brand is indirectly a part of MB history..

AMG has been modifying Mercedes cars since 1967 before their partnership even started in 1993 with Mercedes so you could say they 50 years old. It doesn't mean they are celebrating 50 years or been together lol. BMW M is celebrating 45 years this year also.

Just an update, deal is done on a E 400 in silver, with AMG pack, will be the MY 18 car, August production.

That's going to look awesome, Congrats Monster!!!!

Wasn't that why the A45 was called an A45? 45 yrs of AMG and all that?

Does anyone know if the silver trim on the leading edges of the horizontal fin, at the side of the lower intake, are exclusive to the E 43 or they can be added as an after market accessory from MB? Also does anyone have the full list of accessories for the W213?

As far as I know the silver trim on the horizontal fins come standard with and exclusive for the E43 and can't be added after market officialy. The FL S W222 stuck with AMG line offers the same silver trim on those horizontal fins, by the way.

I thought I would share this interesting data comparison of all 200 model E-classes from the W123 to W213 to gauge how much bigger the car has grown and how much faster it's become in the last 40 years. These figures are all from the model launches and not include facelifted engines.

Good idea. Remember the blue E43 I drove some months ago? It was stuck with night pack and the horizontal edges weren't silver but in black gloss. Looked good as well... PS I posted pics last march.
