E-Class (W213/C238/A238) [Official] Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213

The Mercedes-Benz W213 is the fifth generation of the E-Class range. It succeeded the W212 E-Class models. The coupe/convertible models (C238/A238) share the same platform as the sedan/wagon, in contrast to the previous generation. Production: February 2016–2023. Model years: 2017–2023.
At the moment, the dealer says it is not possible for them to switch to the 19'' wheels, not even if it is a custom order from the factory. Gone are the days when Australian customers can pick and choose the exact options they want for the car. These days 99% of the cars being ordered by customer or the dealer look exactly the same. The only way to get the 19'' wheels is to switch from another customer who has the 19'' wheels and want to upgrade to the 20''.

I detest the fact mercedes Australia is treating the brand like a mass market product and not a premium offering where the customer gets what they want. You can't get a leather interior on a GLA for flipping sake unless you get black leather on the AMG package! And now you can't even option an E with the alloy wheels you want! Let alone the fact half the options aren't even available in Australia. I would certainly pay a little bit more to get exactly what wheels I want and the little options I want.

BMW and Audi aren't as bad yet, but they're selling 1/2 of what MB Australia is these days. Porsche is the only one that lets you get what you want and how you want it. But you certainly pay through your nose for it.

Another one in Hyacinth red metallic.

That's my E the red minus those rims I do prefer the rims in this picture.

Totally agree, for the lower end cars, I can understand why they are doing it, and I actually like how the cars have most of the desirable options as standard, but there should be a lot more flexibility and choices for things like interior color, trim and wheel selections, especially when customers are spending a considerable amount of money to order a custom built car from the factory.

Audi really needs to do something about their option lists, all safety features should either be standard or be group as an optional package, and not having them in separate options IMO.

Do you know when the new steering wheel and new touchpad in the Mercedes E w213 will be available?

Women really love the new E where I live. My neighbor, a serial ML/GLE owner now has a E43. I've seen only a few male E drivers

Seems like 10% of non-AMGs have the full digital panel. The interior looks incomplete without it

Audi's new models are almost a match for Mercedes when it comes to inclusion of options or option packages from the specificaiton sheet's I've seen. It's BMW that I have found have been slow in putting together desirable 'packages' that represent better value for money than individual options, but they have been improving.

This would have been the most ideal spec, but it is not possible to order those wheels in Australia.

That would have been a lovely combination. And to think perhaps only 5-6 years ago a similarly specced car would have made up about 20% of E-class sales.

Just checked with my dealer today, no information on MY 18 cars, apparently the production month for MY 18 cars are pushed back to August? The wood trim option for the lower central dashboard is still not available on the sedan as well. Going to pull the trigger really soon I think.

Anyway, saw the pair of E class in the showroom today, parked next to each other, one in grey, the other in silver. I guess that settles the choice of color, silver it is.

Yeah my local is having a "demo event" or as we used to call it in the game a "Hessian Sale"
They had a knockout white E400 (beige interior, full spec, old school grille), a nice grey E220d night ed. and a black E200 w/AMG. I gota say, as much as I love the new E, its really colour dependant. I came away thinking the black really looks...I dunno, I wanna say dowdy but more plain. I know I felt awful for thinking that...but, yeah. Grey or Silver would be my pic as well.

Out of pure coincidence, there was a new E 200 in diamond metallic white parked next to ours. The W 213 is noticeably longer, but it isn't that much wider. I must say the metallic white is a really nice color, but I feel it isn't too suitable for a car as big as the E class.

It would have been really nice if MB Australia allow customers to have the full selection of wheels to choose from instead of limiting the car to these wheels. I still see plenty of pre face lift W212 with the traditional grill. Now if only they allow customer to select the traditional grill on the AMG pack cars.

Yea those are the only wheels available in the US for the luxury version. Still really disappointed that you can't get a sport pack with the traditional grill...

Does anyone know the differences in dimensions between the normal steering wheel and the sports steering wheel? The sports steering feels like it has a smaller diameter and it is slightly thicker to hold as well. I am considering bring a tape measure to the showroom to find out.

Looks absolutely superb in these shots with the traditional grill..very refreshing to finally see some RL pics of the Exclusive line as it is quite irritating to see AMGs or Sport models everywhere in the UK especially. I feel the traditional grill truly brings out the design virtues of the Saloon.

It gives it more of an S-Class look with the trad grille.
