I saw it yesterday. It was a disappointing experience. First I thought, where are thou? The balloons on the rearside mirrors told me, that must be the new E. Looks very, very much like a C-klasse irl and, strangely enough, not at all like a S-klasse. They had only avant-garde line versions, which I definitely don't like; an E-klasse deserves a real Benz grill with star on the hood. Interior was basic avant-garde, without leather upholstery and in black, boring... They were stuck with the widescreen, which looks terrific (better Looking than the screens in the W222). In the details you can clearly see, why it is less expensive than a S-klasse. Looked spacious enough in my eyes. As LaArtist also said, I didn't get a wannahave feeling as well. I think this is a car you'll love driving it; not love on first sight.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion. The car needs the traditional grill, and the the interior needs a lot of options to make it look as good as it does in the press photos.

Agree with artist and mick I saw And sat inside an e220d in NY...also had the black interior. Didn't get anywhere close to the butterflies ..no must have appeal. The interior felt Spartan a let down from seeing all the photos . Exterior wise nice but not a stunner for me

I was in Stuttgart last week and had the opportunity to see the "full-fat" version of the W213, meaning the E-Class with designo-interior and AMG/Exclusive Exterior. That car look fantastic, never seen such a good looking E-Class. When I came home, I was expecting a lot of "wow", "oh my gosh", "awesome" 'n stuff in this thread. To see that MB managed to give only very regular E-class without any designo/amg/exclusive packages to their dealers is kinda weird. So I called my friend at a MB dealership and asked him if he has any clue why MB gave only the regular E-classe's to their dealers. Well, he said that MB had trouble with the launch of the new model and all factories are working on 100% percent, meaning that all cool stuff for the E-class is like "reserved" for the preorders.

@Mick Briesgau You should call your MB dealer and ask him when they will receive a "fully fitted" E-class. I'm pretty sure you will be impressed as I am

This is nothing new. If you want the finest, you need to pay a fortune. Most buyers don't do that though. What you see at dealers are what the majority of the people are going to choose.

I don't know why. But when I was in Stuttgart they had a bunch of E-classes with full specs. I think these cars were press cars... Anyway there were a bunch of people and surprisingly a lot of Audi, BMW and even Landy Rover/Jaguar drivers who tried to get a little glimpse of the new E-class. Of course there were some "older people" that neither liked the twinscreen nor the bigger center console. But overall the impressions were very positive, much better than 7 years ago when the W212 was released.

If you ask me, a white W213 with amg line and amg rims looks absolutely stunning. The air-intakes at the front give the e-class a very agressive presence plus the coupe-like back grants a very sporty look.

don't get my wrong, the cars at my dealership was no fleet edition or taxis..
They were all AMG package. Inside was very sporty with the AMG interior.
Only problem was that all of them were black inside, i Think a lighter color brings out the best.

You don't see the difference between the W212 and 13 interior? That's more difference than BMW has managed since the 70s..haha
You should go and check it out, i mean if you get sick you can Always walk down the road and go into BMW and pleasure urself. I know that they are wall to wall where you live.

Where are you getting the W212 from LOL? I meant differences in quality between a standard W213 and a fully specced W213, other than the two screens.

my bad i was at work..
and the differnce is the same as any car.. you spec up the leather and the wood you get more luxury.
what is the differnce between a low and high spec ______ <--- enter any car here?
