E-Class (W212/C207/A207) [Official] Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W212) Facelift

The Mercedes-Benz W212 is the fourth generation of the E-Class range. It is the successor to the W211 E-Class. Body styles: four-door sedan/saloon (W212) and five-door estate/wagon (S212). Coupé and convertible models of the W212 E-Class generation are W204 C-Class based and known as the C207 and A207, replacing the CLK-Class (C209 and A209) coupé and cabriolet. Production: March 2009 – January 2016 (sedan), December 2009 – May 2016 (station wagon).
Indeed. I don't get MBUSAs packaging arrangements. Hopefully the diesel will get different rim options.

My thoughts exactly.

Actaully no. I thought the same thing till I saw in the flesh. The luxury is not good. The plastic inserts in the outer bumper openings are terrible. Don't know what they were thinking there. The absence of the exhaust tips is bad. The wheels are blah. The chrome strips on the lower door fascia look like aftermarket.
The sport looks so much smoother in person. Really no comparison.
Yes, it could have been done right with those few changes, but I can't believe this made it off the drawing board.

I do agree that one should be able to get the sport with the traditional grille.

Uh oh that isn't good Tenn. Then again I've never really liked this E and especially the luxury version. It always looked like a rental to me.

I was thinking about trading/selling the IS250 for an E-Class once I saw the facelift, but I'm still not sold on the car. I'll drive it, but I think this generation E will go down with the W210, unfavorably. Though the facelift is better on the sport model, it seems I would be better looking at something different or wait until the next E. If only there was a gasoline S350 with the new turbo V6, that would be something.

The new E looks really nice in flesh than in photos, I saw one the other day and I liked it.

I saw an E250 at the dealership today in Avantgarde trim. It looked great to my eyes and clearly more contemporary than the pre facelift E. The front end works very well to me and it looked more at home amongst it's brethren compared to the pre FL. The dashboard also appeared more refined and the grain of the plastic has been smoothed out for a more upscale feel. The leather quality has also been improved. The blue (changeable) ambient lighting looked fresh and modern and the analogue clock was a nice sporty touch. Those are my impressions after a 5 minutes encounter. I look forward to spending more time with the cars and getting a test drive.

My aunt and uncle both have E250's on order, both with Vision Packs and AMG packs and both due in October so I should get a few long drives out of them. E250's here come with the full gamut of driver assistance and headlight technologies which I'm very keen on trying. The bad new, resales on pre FL cars like our E350 are going to take an absolute beating.

Mercedes needs to pull a stunner like the new S-Class is for the next E. After the new C comes next year, the E will be the weak link sorta speak. The E is the right size for me and would be a great daily driver for me.
