E-Class (W213/C238/A238) [Official] Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé (C238)

The Mercedes-Benz W213 is the fifth generation of the E-Class range. Body styles: sedan/saloon (W213), wagon/estate (S213), long wheelbase (V213), coupé (C238), cabriolet (A238). Production: 2016–2023. Predecessor: W212 E-Class. Successor: W214 E-Class, C236/A236 CLE.
I've been seeing a lot of SL's lately, and the facelift helps it a lot, but that interior is 2010.

Funny enough I have too and find myself to have fallen in love with it.

Needless to say I'm concerned about the facelift E-Class but will have faith in Wagoner. The rear of the CLS and the grille of the IQ SUVs are Mercedes's only recent missteps.

But without the big screens, wouldn't it stand the test time better ?

Twenty years from now, when hologram replaces a screen, I'd rather see those analogue instruments in a classic proportioned roadster. Cars by then probably don't even have bonnets anymore.

It's absolutely gorgeous. Kills the C43 Coupe in every way, and it's right up there with the AMG S Coupes look wise, but just think of what an E63 Coupe would be like. Fainting.

Any traditional Merc fan should celebrate the E-Coupe. It’s a modern W124 Coupe.

Have a go in it Marcus, tell us the specs and color choices when you put our order in (y)

The red with the night package works really well on the E coupe.

People should just black out the side windows, that will make the third side window near invisible (y)

Not to mention, blacked out window look good!
I've got a diamond white coupe with privacy glass on the back window/fixed section. This does make the small fixed section "invisible" when the window is up. When down you can see the small fixed section of the window but the large opening with front and rear window down gives a good look.

Correct, there would not be another way with this design. Without that third side window, they would have to remodel the shape of pretty much the entire car. And making the rear side window a window that can't be opened (like the 6er coupe for instance) would defy the purpose of the pillarless design.

If you squint it looks excellent :D

Series production of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé has started at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Bremen, as part of a flexible system alongside the C-Class Coupé and C-Class Cabriolet.

Disappointingly my C238 has a fingerprint - in - the rear window. This has caused the rear window to delaminate.

This was clearly a manufacturing fault when the window was manufactured.

It should have been picked up during quality control before leaving the factory, but alas, this did not happen.

I picked up this fault during the delivery inspection of my vehicle, however 8 months since I took delivery this issue has still

not been mutually resolved between the dealer from whom I purchased the car, Mercedes Benz Australia and myself.

Further the stitching on the dashboard is of very poor quality, this has also still not been resolved.

Finally, there are foreign fibres, of some type inside the sealed unit headlights, this also is still not resolved.

The dealer found other E Class vehicles in their dealership also had these foreign fibres inside the sealed unit headlights.

Additionally the customer service Manager, Mercedes Australia, has not contacted me for the last 10 weeks, this despite

me writing directly to the CEO, Horst Von Sanden, Mercedes Benz Australia. He did reply and advised the customer service

Manager would further investigate these faults.

This was 3 weeks ago yet no one has contacted me.

Don't get me wrong, I really like my E300.

It is however disappointing that the faults on my vehicle have gone unresolved.

MB Australia has - offered - (that is, told me what will happen) re the rear window delamination.

I am not satisfied with their resolution. I wish to negotiate an agreed resolution but they appear reticent to enter in to

any form of negotiation to settle that issue.

The poor quality of the dash stitching is another sticking point as they claim it is "is within MB specifications".

MB however will not show me any information to support their "is within MB specifications" claim.

They have agreed to refer the foreign fibres inside the sealed unit headlights to MB Germany.

My belief is MB are delaying any negotiation to then claim I should have bought these issues to their attention earlier.

As I identified the window and stitching at the time of delivery I believe I have done all I can to bring these issues to MB

at the earliest possible time.

I approached the service department approximately 3 months after taking delivery of my vehicle and indentified, to

them, the foreign fibres in the headlights.

Curiously the comment from the service member was very odd.

He said: "what do you want us to do"

My reply: "replace the headlight assemblies"

He replied: "if we replace the headlight assemblies the replacement may be worse than those we're replacing"

My reply: "that's a dumb response"

He replied with a shrug of his shoulders.

Ahem, life goes on, but hey, whatta I know!

Sorry to hear about your issues, I too was unfortunate to deal with Mercedes Australia and their non existent customer "support". Please upload some photos and share it with us, and keep us updated.

Thanks for your support Monster.

I'll post some photos over the next week or so.

You may be able to assist me. Is there a limit to the files/photos you can upload at a time.
