Really?, come on, from the front lights (first 10 cm) to the back, the only difference is that one has the roof on

One can ‘t compare those prices without taking into account the standard equipement, Rolf. If I’m not mistaking the CLE is much better equipped than a C class sedan.

I can't get over the sheer quality. The weight and sound of the doors is unmatched and no modern car will ever come close. Mechanical over engineered perfection.

Those cars had unrivaled build quality and felt like tanks when you close the door. The dash quality was amazing. In those days the W124 models had real pleated leather on the door panel and alot of thick cut wood panels on the center console and doors with ZERO creaking noises. You wont find that in cars built today.

The rear light design would have looked better with a chrome strip joining the 2 lights instead of the black plastic bar. Now it totally spoils the rear end, while the front of the car looks extremely good.

Agree on the rear part. To me the front looks like it could just be a FL CLA.

The whole car looks like a parts bin car. Which is a pitty, I loved how good the E-Coupe looks.

The only modern car that any manufacturer has made that is a worthy successor to this weapon, is the S-class Coupe 2015-2021. It was perhaps not as brutish, but goddamn was it beautiful.

there are 2 versions of prototypes running around, one with round exhausts versus one with the squared off types found on the 63. To me this means either the cle and 214 will have a 6cyl 53 and a higher output 6cyl 63 or a 53 and a v8 63. Thoughts?

The video sounds like a 4-cylinder to me, but since there is a CLE 450 I6, I would hope that Mercedes would put the hi-po I6 in the CLE.

The AMG E in the videos sound like an I6 to me.
