New C400e 4MATIC 65.342,90 €

1999cc, 381 hp(252+129 hp)
0-100 km 5.4 s
0,8 - 0,6 l/100km
EV range 97-111 km
2130 kg
Its interesting that the E300e 4-Matic is 65kg lighter than the C400e 4Matic and 15kg lighter than the C300e 4-Matic according to Mercedes figures, I guess the extra weight of the C-class models is due to the larger battery of 25.4kw/hr

Claimed 0-100km/h:
  • E300e 4-matic - 5.9sec
  • C300e 4-matic - 6.2sec
  • C400e 4-matic - 5.4sec
Something doesn't seem correct with the C400e combined output or its performance figures. The C300e has 150kw (ICE) and 95kW (Electric Motor) but combined output is not 245kw but 230kw. The C400e has 35kw more ICE power so then should be 265kw and not 280kw. The 0-100km/h time of 5.4sec seems slow, the roughly same output 270kw S450 4-Matic does 5.1sec according to Mercedes figures.

WTF is it made of? Lead? It is heavier than a M5. And forget Model 3, it is heavier than even a Model S LR - a full size BEV with 100 kwh battery 700hp.

At this rate, a C63 will probably be 2200+ kg.

Yeah that's what I meant haha. 4,700lbs almost is insane! I can't imagine a C63 being over 500lbs less lightweight without the PHEV system. And if it is.. still probably going to be 300-400lbs more than a G80.

Mercedes has seemingly never been able to manage the weight of their vehicles. Hybrid, ICE, EV it doesn't matter they're always porky. I don't understand why that is not higher up on their engineering priorities.

Sat in one of these today while at the dealer. The interior definitely has been cheapened but it's hard to tell at first glance because of all the "exciting" designs and material choices in the upper dashboard. Shame about the lower part of the interior. The exterior looks absolutely fantastic. My favorite exterior in the class if I have to be honest.

I sat in a new C220d AMG last week and have the same comments as you on the interior. When you first get inside and look at the interior it looks fantastic and the seats are very comfortable but when you start touching the different parts in the car, there are certain items that feel cheap and are a major disappointment.

Hard plastic is now on the lower middle center console, lower console on the dash plus glove box on passenger side and the lower door panels and pockets, which was not the case in previous C-class models which all had soft touch here. Also I think the Artico stitched top part of the dash is hard and doesn't feel that soft to touch.

The rear seats felt very comfortable to seat on and it felt more spacious in the back than the W205, although its still not mega spacious for the size of car. It looks alot bigger on the outside than the W205 as well especially the bonnet.

I like the exterior styling alot and think its a class leader here with combination of sporty elegance that is even better than the G20 3-series.
