Weird. This looks like it'll be a C63 but doesn't look like it has the wider rear fender as spied on some other spy shots. Wonder which model will have wider rear fender, or if it was just something they're messing with and none will have it.

Maybe this is the C43 and not C63.

With regards to the reviews that are currently out, most have given high appraisal for the new C-class and especially mentioned that ride comfort and NVH are class-leading. Driving dynamics some mentioned close to 3-series. The interior infotainment is mixed reviews, some praised it and some (like Autogefuhl have not said its a step forwards and takes time to get used to the touch screen interface).

This 4 pot AMG is going to be tragic. Either go all electric and be way faster, or go all ICE and be way more awesome. This middle ground is piss poor.

At this point, seeing how fast the industry is moving towards EVs, I agree it would have made more sense to go for an I6 and then switch to EV in 2028 when this C63 ends its cycle.

Probably the decission was taken a while ago. Bad for them.

Having a full ICE engine at any point past 2025 would make them look insane and would not help with their emissions targets.

Maybe muscular rear fenders have simply not been fitted to this prototype?

It doesn't really work like that, the wider track would result in the wheels bulging out of the current fenders if that was the case. There may just be less need for a wider rear track given the torque vectoring for both axles that's coming with the hybrid powertrain.

What do you mean by torque vectoring privided by the hybrid powertrain?

In addition to the ESP-driven, brake based torque vectoring, the car will have an electronic locking diff coupled with the electric and ice motors to more precisely put down power.

Sounds like a great car and a good alternative to the 3er, but they really going in when it comes to the interior build quality.

“Things take a bit of a downturn in terms of interior quality, with cheap-feeling hard plastic you’d expect to see in an inexpensive small hatch rather than a premium executive car. It's used for everything below the middle ambient lighting line of the dashboard and centre console, around the air vents and for most of the door cards. The C-Class looks impressive inside, but both the A4 and 3 Series have far plusher interiors.”

This seems to be the norm with the latest MBs. Even the W213 has been critisized for being far behind the G30 5er in terms of interior fit & finish.

Simply unacceptable.

Yes but this has nothing to do with the fact that it is a hybrid. It will jave a normal electronically controlled but true diff lock like any other sports sedan from MB and BMW.

Daimler lobbied for electrification as a protectionist measure to ward off the Chinese, now the EU is busting them out. Daimler gotta cut corners like crazy to come up with the money necessary to make EVs to keep the EU happy.

The 5er is the best built in terms of interior quality of the big 3 C segment juggernauts. Pity that it’s interior design and info tainment look a generation old

This sounds like hyperbole. I'm certain there's cost cutting, as mentioned by some reveiws, but 'far plusher' is without doubt an exaggeration.

You have to wonder with some of these reviewers. Case in point, Thomas from Autogefuhl made the capacitive buttons and touchscreens a central point of contention in his C review and went on and on about it. Yet in his Porsche Taycan reveiw this complaint hardly featured and was glossed over. Despite the fact that the Mercedes has a much easier to use touch screen UI and and far superior voice UI.

I agree he even complains in the S class review saying the system is difficult to use which is not true from 90 percent other reviewers he also says their should be more buttons and in another review he says she likes Tesla no button system obviously some bias by him against the New MB Mbux
