Mercedes-Benz was the only European brand to decline significantly in Consumer Reports 2014 survey—dragged down eleven places by the newly introduced CLA sedan and the redesigned top-of-the-range S-Class. Mercedes’ best reliability performers were the popular E-Class V6 sedan and the small GLK SUV—both scored above average.

CR now includes infotainment complaints as part of their reliability ratings. This means that a car can have few actual mechanical or build issues, but still rate low because of customer dissatisfaction with the infotainment interface.

This! If infotainment wasn't a factor, MB would not have lost 11 places compared to last year. That being said, MB does need to work on their COMAND system. The new touchpad interface is slower than molasses. And having removed the number keypad has made pulling up radio presets and speed dial #s a task.

I don't know how many places they would have dropped, but they would have dropped either way. The fit and finish issues with the CLA, S and now the C-Class are going to continue to drag them down until fixed. It isn't just comand, not by a long shot. The owners forums tell the real world story.

It's like the 2000's all over again. MB sales are going gangbusters at the expense of quality. You think they would have learnt. I hope it's just cosmetic issues that are reeled in very quickly and not longer term reliability issues like we saw last decade.

I think they will respond swiftly. The management team, Zetsche particularly, does not seem arrogant as they were back then.

The longer wheelbase is so well disguised, you could never say this is longer than the standard C-class unless you compare them side by side, I am sure that extra rear seat space must be a huge benefit. I wonder if the ride comfort will be better due to the longer wheelbase, but maybe handling suffers slightly. It would be interesting if they could do a test comparison between SWB and LWB

My feelings after a meeting of the new C-class are the following. Build quality leaves a lot to be desired for me, these body parts are the headlights look very cheesy. In the S-class look everything as it should be. Personally, I do not convince me the new C class.

Hmm I'm guessing English is not your first language, but would you please try to elaborate ?

Don't I also understand why you are clinging? films which I added are portraying something else than so far, the guy is an owner of the car and an audio tsar is demonstrating the quality of the workmanship as well as the evaluation the more so as so perhaps it is a professional musician to interest somebody. Alone you often put what you will find online so all the more I don't understand you...
