Why don't the customers upgrade to the E-class instead of buying a LWB C-class?

E is one level higher,so is the price. These people want an equivalant or almost equivalant practical one without paying more.
Is there a way to find out the customer break down, like those who would have bought the E-class if the LWB C-class isn't available, and those who will still buy the C-class regardless of the LWB model?

Mercedes sales of the C were impacted significantly by a lack of a LWB variant in China. So rather than move to the E, they simply went elsewhere.

As you know, Mercedes Benz has just replaced the SL350 with the new SL400, which makes use of the same V6 biturbo in the the upcoming C400.
The quoted 0-100 (0-62mph) is 5.2 seconds. Considering that the current SL350 is heavier than the C400, the C400 is going to be impressive!

A couple of days ago we had an epiphany concerning the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205 and the GLA X156 crossover/SUV, with the C-Class emerging as the unsuspected victor in an impromptu battle of weight between the two models.

Today it's time to applaud both Mercedes-Benz models though, as they are the newest winners of the Design Trophy awards, a car design voting competition organized every year by the Germans from Auto Zeitung.

No less than 20,184 readers of the Auto Zeitung print magazine and the website voted for the most beautiful new cars in five different categories, with Mercedes-Benz managing to put no less than three awards from the six possible under its belt.

According to the readers' votes, the all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205 not only received the award for “Best Looking Sedan” but it also won the title of “Champion of all classes.” Overall, it managed to win the hearts and votes of 13.2 percent of voters in total, right in front of its bigger brother, the S-Class W222 – which managed second place in the overall contest, with 7.9 percent of total votes.

“The new C-Class showcases automotive passion by way of a contemporary design idiom. This modernistic style of design is highlighted by progressive as well as emotional touches that convey a sense of sensual purity. The new C-Class interprets a new standard of modern luxury.” said Gorden Wagener, Vice President Design at Daimler AG.

The third category won by Mercedes-Benz was the SUV one, with the compact GLA X156 managing to get 30.1 percent of all votes, in front of the second-place Porsche Macan and the new Range Rover Sport.

Both black(ish), both C180, both AMG package. Couldn't resist taking some photo's for you guys.

Btw, the C class interior with automatic transmission is gorgeous. Very well done MB!

Woa it seems a lot bigger!

This just shows how well the w204 with amg kit has aged. It still looks good.

I also prefer the new C with amg kit in a lighter colour.

LED taillights, LED turn signals, LED brake lights, I love it. I just wish the brake lights weren't so small. Maybe I'll just order the Coupe after my lease ends on the coupe.
