I'm wondering: if you look at the video below (at around 2 minutes, when the actual city drive starts), wipers sound very noisy? You can even hear the entire mechanism! Why is this?

Pre-production car?

I'm ordering a New C here in the US, but can't decide between luxury and sport package... I love the idea of driving with the star perched on top of the hood...

Which interior do you prefer? You are going to be inside the car most of the time and I think that it may be the most important decision here!

Yep, W205! The Macan is now off the table. Don't get me wrong, it's gorgeous, and I'm sure it will be an amazing performer, but Porsche dropped the ball, offering options that would open up later in the life cycle that weren't available at launch and showing off those options on the press cars. When I placed my order, I was told I'd have it by the end of the year, then, that changed to MAYBE February of 2015.

In my own humble opinion, you and I should get a cup of tea. Great job!

They both look great. I have to agree with your sentiment. Having the three pointed star guiding you down the road certainly is a unique feature. Especially since it's really only Rolls Royce that continues on with that tradition... :) I'd go for the luxury trim because you'll also have a less common model. The take rate on the sports model is going to be huge.

I'd go for the luxury package. Real Benz feeling with the star on the hood. And it looks so lovely like a small S-Klasse...

I would step up to the leather interior for the luxury. The only downside is that you can't get the black ash open pore wood trim on the luxury, that is sport only. I think I would therefor go with the linden wood with MBTex with dash and top door panels being blue. It's that or black on black because I don't like beige. I love the cranberry red but it's only sport.

The thing is, is I also have a CLA on order White on brown leather 250, sport package, lights, panorama, multimedia, blind spot etc. but I really love the C and think I may need a bit of a bigger car with a baby most probably on the horizon sooner than later. The CLA comes in June, I had ordered it in Dec, so I'll wait and see when it comes but I love the interior of the C so much, and CLA, though not bad, is a def step down in that dept.

0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds or around 5 seconds flat for 0-100 km/h seems about right.

The C400 will be about as fast as the current Audi S4 - beloved of American car testers in particular, as their compact luxury sedan, sports driving 'champ'.

So the C-Class with its much higher luxury feel, and at-least equal perfomance level in the C400 model, will make life hard for the aging A4 and even 335i/iX. and to think first drive reports of many US testers wrote the C400 off as 'feeling slow'. Four and a half secsonds to 60 is slow? They obviously knew how good it was and tried to downplay it so as to give the appearance of the compact luxury sedan class being tight - which it plainly is not with the arrival of the new C-Class, C400 in particular - a simply knockout car.

I am pleased and pleasantly surprised how fast the C400 is in the stopwatch test of 0-60mph of 4.6sec is quick, only 0.2sec slower (4.4sec) than Autocar test of the W204 C63AMG in 2008. That would mean about 4.9 to 5sec flat to 100km/h, which is about level with the Audi but would kick the BMW 335i's behind. I would estimate the C400 would be quickest to 160km/h (about 10.5 to 11sec), cause of the higher torque and also the better aerodynamics.

Well done Mercedes!!!
