The interior is nicer than anything else Mercedes makes that doesn't begin with an "S."

if only they had found a more elegant solution for the Nav display! That interior would have been flawless otherwise

Today I was on a local Mercedes dealer and had the chance to see the new W205…

I see all the "baby S" comments…but when I entered and looked at this car LIVE (not in pictures) I have to say one thing:

FALSE

It looks great,it feels great, but it has NOTHING to do with W222…by far

But,it is the best car in it's class :)

So...
Initially, when I saw the FEP of the S-class couple of years ago, I was rather hesitant with their design direction. I thought it would too roly-poly and jelly bean-like. To me, a Mercedes-Benzes are best when they are not fussy and are rather austere, i.e. W140 S-class. I thought the upward swage line would be too trendy and will age badly.

Boy, was I wrong. The S-class and this new C-class just look brilliant, inside and out. The only criticism I can see is that after-thought of a screen, but even that can be overlooked when you have an interior like that. I would seriously consider this over a 3er, and I did not think there'd be a day I would say that. Ugh, maybe I am get too old. ;)

Agreed. I also fee that MB's implementation of the touch pad is a tad too chunky and I don't think it will age well. It remind's me of a wireless presenter that people often use when doing doing a presentation.

IMO, BMW's implementation is much cleaner with the touchpad being built into the iDrive controller.

But other than these two minor gripes, I reckon MB have put a great looking interior together.

2 days ago I tested the new C

The touch pad is very good ! you can use it in all kinds of stuff, including menu navigation

It has a "click" , so you can have a physical response from your clicks

The text recognition is good. But to be honest,it is kind a slow, because after every letter you enter,it says what you wrote, and this means time, and time is wasted :)

Saw the new C today here in Birmingham, must say it is a beautiful looking car. Strangely though it had NL plates.

How come MB makes a standard-kit car with the sport grille but not an AMG-kit car with the traditional grille? I find the sport nose weak and reminiscent of a Mercedes van or R class.

Maybe that's because if it wrapped along the entire trim it would dazzle the rear seat passengers at night?
