No, both are still there: a C400 4Matic (245 kW) and a C43 4Matic (270 kW). C400 was never ditched. Is that C400 naming back again? I thought they ditched that in favour of the C43 branding? ..
The C-class has finally got the 9G-tronic gearbox
The Australian market is finally replacing all C 250 sedans and estate with the C 300, and now matched with the 9 G gearbox.
$1000 I think, and MB Australia is bringing in the exclusive line option for the C class too. That's quite a big performance upgrade. Any price increase?
2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class pricing and specs: New engines, new models | CarAdviceThe Mercedes-Benz C-Class has received some minor updates for the new year, bringing an updated engine line-up and the availability of a new equipment package.
Headlining the changes are the introduction of the new C220d and C300 models, which replace the previous C200d and C250 respectively.
Available in both sedan and ‘estate’ wagon bodies, the new diesel and petrol bring more power and torque over their predecessors, while both are mated to the company’s nine-speed automatic transmission.
Firstly, the C220d replaces the 1.6-litre turbo-diesel from the C200d with a larger 2.1-litre oiler, developing 125kW of power and 400Nm of torque. This marks an improvement of 25kW and 80Nm over the outgoing model.
Meanwhile, the C300 aligns itself with the C-Class coupe range, bringing an uprated version of the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine used in the previous C250, now developing a healthy 180kW of power and 370Nm of torque – up 25kW and 20Nm over its predecessor.
Also new for this latest model year is the availability of the ‘Exclusive Line’ package, which has been a popular choice among customers of the larger E-Class.
It’s a no-cost option for four-cylinder C-Class sedan and estate models, excluding the C350e plug-in hybrid, and adds equipment highlights such as 18-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels, ‘Exclusive’ Artico man-made leather trim (C200, C220d) or full leather upholstery (C300, C250d).
There’s also Agility Control adaptive dampers, dashboard and beltlines trimmed in Artico man-made leather, brown ash open pore wood and silver chrome highlights, a Mercedes-Benz star on the bonnet, along with an active front grille for C200 and C220d models.
Pricing is up marginally across the range for the new model year, too.
The updated Mercedes-Benz C-Class range is available to order now.

That was done by one of the dealers in Sydney a few weeks ago as well. You can see how much margins are in these cars, when they are still making a profit even at this price. And to remove stocks, some dealers are doing a C250 for the price of a C200 (got the email yesterday)
This would have been a pretty good design as well, with strong influence from the W220, especially around the top edges of the headlights and the front grill. Not sure if this has been posted... one of the final design proposals for the W205:

Looks like a design from Hubert Lee.
A good find..I actually hope the next W206 would turn out something like this in terms of the continous character line and large sidewall as I think the current discontinuing line on the W205 isn't exactly at it's best on a small car like the C..Not sure if this has been posted... one of the final design proposals for the W205:

Actually you may be right thereNo way will the W206 have a character line, not with Wagener's sensual purity design ethos.
