I agree I my have sounded a bit sarcastic but come on now Mr. M;) You know what I mean and I for one found the B-class interior superb (that's an understatement) until I discovered the (below premium) exposed painted metal on the door inner frame surrounding the inner side windows.:)

Also by now you must know how I love the Three Pointed Star and it's really annoying for THE German car brand to cut such obvious corners?

I have been hammering BMW on perceived quality because there are enough Hyundai, KIA's etc. out there and now M-B gives ALL premium makers leverage on going Sub-Premium for Premium price in future? Bad, bad example from "The Best or Nothing" don't you think?

I still don't see what you're saying Human. Maybe somebody nice out there will highlight the problem on the pictures. :D

The issue I have had with some BMW interiors is that the trailing edge of the door, where the armrest ends, you can sometimes see the exposed B pillar behind. The trim panels just don't go far back enough. But it's often covered by the front seats in pictures though.

Looks like that bionic car they made a while ago..

True. The 2005 Bionic Concept might also have inspired the external door panelling. ;)

Great rigidity and low weight – a growth principle designed by nature

The boxfish, the aerodynamic model for the concept car, is also a prime example of rigidity and light weight. Its skin consists of numerous hexagonal, bony plates which provide maximum strength with minimal weight and effectively protect the animal from injury.

DaimlerChrysler researchers examined this bionic structure and transferred this principle to the Mercedes-Benz bionic car study with the help of a special calculation process. The process is based on the principles of bone formation and for instance allows up to 40 percent more rigidity to be achieved in the external door panelling than would be possible with conventional designs. If the entire bodyshell is calculated according to this bionic principle, the total weight is reduced by around one third with undiminished strength and crash safety.

If these guys want a performance car, they should get a performance car and shut the f_ck up. The people online who are slamming the B-Class are NOT THE TARGET MARKET. Why do they even bother complaining then? Morons.

Out of the almost 10 years that I have been apart of the "GermanCar" forums, that has to be one of the most valuable comments ever posted. It's almost amazing how that applies to so many other cars as well. Nothing worst then someone judging a Small compact car by Ferrari (performance) standards.

Kudos to cawimmer430 :eusa_clap that's really how i felt too for quite some time
All RWD-FWD crap has a lot to do with 1-er having a rear-wheel drive. I guess a lot of people consider it to be a serious sports-car or smth

I know exactly what part you're talking about (mostly 'highlighted' in brochure pictures:eusa_doh:) Now if you follow that exposed painted metal up into the B-pillar over and across the top side of the side window down the A-pillar = exposed in B-class as in most VAG, Korean etc. products.

Exactly what i have been saying from the start this car has a different market so no piont for us enthusiasts to write it off yes its not going to give me fun like my former C63 but its not meant for that...Today i cam to work with my families R class and i can really appreciate what the B class stands for even more as i can see what a small family can use the B class for as well as it would be a nice city car...

For me the new B class is a very nice little car or mini MPV ..

The metal/paint is exposed. Very bad form from a Benz. I was recently looking at a Hyundai with exposed metal/paint at the doors and thinking how fortunate I am to have a car with attention to detail to avoid such a crude eye sore.

*And there is absolutely no chance it could be glare from the over exposed light, zero, without a doubt, I would bet my unborn daughter on it, etc.* /sarcasm off

No one said it, but I knew they wanted to. So I did. :D

The previous generation was like this, wouldn't be surprised if this generation is too...

Wow the new interior dates the previous version incredibly.

Does anyone know if these cars are wearing some sort of sports kit? They all have HUGE wheels, side skirts and a bumper very reminiscent of the pre FL S-class AMG bumper.

I think the B-Classes in silver with the sporty wheels are an indication of what the car will look like in sport trim.

My car (the WRX) shows naked paint (reasonably well concealed btw) and it doesn't bother me. I know my car isn't premium in the interior sense of things (mechanically speaking it's very premium for the money) so I'm at less of a liberty to comment! :D

My Countryman has paint showing inside, personally I don't notice it at all, nor do I care, neither will most owners. Odd though my Clubman didn't.
