B-Class (W246) [Official] Mercedes-Benz B-Class (W246)

The W246 is the second generation Mercedes-Benz B-Class. It is the successor to the B-Class W245 and predecessor to the B-Class W247. Production: November 2011 – December 2018. Model years: 2012–2018.
Not even Bi-Xenons are fitted. In fact on the ML Xenons are not even available for another 3-4 months.

This has nothing to do with strategy. Same thing is happening with new B and M in Russia. There must be some problems with headlights production.
When there was this whole Japan-Earthquake-Fukushima thing, one could wait half a year for Command

No CLC or A-Classes in the background this time as a teaser. Darn.

M

Why do make this cars in such a early time? Now A-class - I understand but CLA? there is even no production version visible (yes 95% of CSC but...)

At last MB starts making some nice front bumpers:

Hey, I know some Drag Queens who would be incredibly offended by that statement! :D

It takes one to know one hey? :ROFLMAO: Kidding aside the bumper design shouldn't make anyone fall off their chair. Mercedes have been tweaking and fiddling with bumper designs with every new model year. Do you remember the double fogs? Yeah, how long did they last. Hopefully this bumper is just a drunken design that will be canned in no time.

The B 200 Natural Gas Drive premieres in Paris. :)

Thanks, I was about to ask where that bumper was coming from as I hadn't seen it before on the B-class.
Kind of nice, and that design will look good on cars like the SLK and SL, I would think...

I have a bare bones poverty spec B180 as a loan vehicle for 2 days while ours is in for service. And let me just say I HATE this car and don't believe it justifies it's AUD$40,000 asking price. o_O

* Interior - Without the little trimmings that come with a higher spec, it just didn't feel premium
* Steering - Extremely light at low speeds and it didn't seem consistently weighted. And the transition from light to heavy as your speed rises did not feel natural or fluent at all.
* Start stop - Very jerky start stop system. It felt like the car was stalling each and every time. Not sure if this is normal for the B or the B180 specifically, but it was a rubbish system.
* Engine performance and noise - The engine would rev quickly, the noise would build up considerably, but the car just wouldn't go anywhere. I honestly checked if I had misused the electric parking brake a couple of times. The engine performance could be described as lethargic, if I were being kind. My 2008 civic's drivtrain feels better sorted than this.
* Ride - There's a slight harshness to the ride that I can only put down to the run flats since the car was sitting on 16inch tyres. It's not disastrous, but it rode more like an Audi than a Mercedes. I really hope this is not a taste of things to come for the A250.

I specifically asked the dealer to have the B as a loan car, as I wanted to sample what it had to offer. With the B180 I came away thoroughly disappointed. There's better Japanese and Korean offerings to be had for the money.

Oh I forgot to add, the rim of the steering wheel was unbelievably cheap feeling and did nothing for to create a the tactile sensation of having something high quality at your helm. In fact it did the complete opposite. I have seen and felt better plastic wheels in cars 1/3 the price.

MB introduces the B-Class with 4MATIC in Geneva. :)

The B 220 4MATIC Sports Tourer comes with the M270 inline four cylinder engine with 1.991 cc displacement and 184 PS, consuming 6.8 l/100 km (NEDC). The height of the vehicle is 1558mm, the same as the version with front wheel drive.

If you're asking me, The B Klasse looks good just as it is, no need to change the style. They sould have focused on improving engines, trannys and drivetrain. Oh, and getting rid of those stupid run-flats.

Just as we thought ponton was gone bye-bye, stupid thing just doesn't want to go away.
