A-Class (W176) [Official] Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG

The W176 model was introduced at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show officially as a subcompact executive / C-segment model for the first time after being a supermini / B-segment for fifteen years.

It looks really good. I can't wait to see the CLA and all its versions at the NYC show and then at the dealership. I feel this is going to be a huge hit for MB.

Mercedes should really sell the A45 in the U.S. Just the AMG model only, no regular A-Class models. Price it like at 37-42K it would sell out instantly IMO.

I so much like the "riced-out" version. IMO, best looking sports-hatch in class. I'd drivethis thing proudly. The red accents are very tastefully applicated, just in the right places. Color combo is perfect. Exactly as I'd configure my A Class. Astra OPC, Golf GTI/R, Megane RS, S3/RS3, M135i, but less, look tame compared to this.

Only M2 will be able to be better, hopefully.
 
What a pitty there is no 3dr version that resembles the awesome concept we saw a few years ago. I would have bought that concept without thinking it twice.

Saw that already, posted a similar article in the sales thread. Likely, so we'll see what happens. The product is coming so who know what will happen.

I didn't raise that article as a means to delivered news. I know it's old.

If you've read the article, you'll see that experts within the industry expect Daimler to have a tough period over the next couple of years. How could you possibly say otherwise by looking at a picture of a new car rolling-off the factory?

Why the negativity? Experts can be wrong. They are not the masters of the universe nor do they speak for all potiental customers.

Considering the amount of new products Mercedes is bring out this year, of course we expect them to do well. Only time will tell though.

I'm questioning his logic and challenging his rationale in making that statement . You've interpreted my response as negative. I have no control over how you interpret and give meaning to what i write so answer that question yourself.

Yes, experts can be wrong. However, they base their opinion on facts, their skills, training and their experience. It is for this very reason why they're referred to as "experts".

Launching new products is not necessarily a precursor to success. You have to look at it from the context of your market and competition - your competitors may also be launching a string of exciting new products.

Experts within the industry examine the company at a "big picture" level and combine that with the abovementioned skills and experience before concluding with their opinion.

Now compare that to someone who looks at a photo of a new car rolling down a production line and makes the claim that "Mercedes will come roaring back"

OMG, really? With all the new product coming I expect them to have a good year here in the U.S. and abroad, that is all I meant. Now if Europe drags that down then so be it, but I don't think it will once everything is rolled out. They just had a positive gain for the first quarter and their BEST MARCH EVER right in middle of all the gloom and doom:

So yeah I think it can go either way and I'm leaning towards a great year for them considering all the new product on the way. Seeing the A45 being rolled out reminded me of all the new product they have lined up.

If you're releasing a string of new products but you're still not increasing market share (i.e. you still fall behind BMW and Audi) then that hardly constitutes success.

Did you consider that both BMW and Audi are also actively releasing new products and they're both coming from, relatively-speaking, a position of strength.

Have you considered the Chinese market? It'll take Daimler 1-2 years to fix the mess that they've got in China.

Not sure what your problem is here, it wasn't that serious. Yeah based on new products I expect them to have a great year and to gain ground close the gap to a point. If you don't think so then ok then so be it. I'm fully aware of all the challenges they face in China. Again, not sure what your issue is here.

I'm highlighting the flaw in your statement. You can't state that a company will make a come-back without considering the competition.

It's just like a formula 1 team - they can come out with a brand-new car that's quick out-of-the-box, but it's not an indicator of success if their rivals also come-out with car that's faster.
