A-Class (W176) [Official] Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG

The W176 model was introduced at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show officially as a subcompact executive / C-segment model for the first time after being a supermini / B-segment for fifteen years.
Aren't some X-drives 30:70 ?

Funny you should mention that because we did have a debate on the subject awhile ago and I plus many others said no it's always been 40:60 but I happened to read a piece on the old X3 that did state it was 30:70 so now I'm not so sure we were right to dismiss the 30:70 belief.

Hopefully someone like Scott could confirm which is right.

I always knew it is 30:70 but if someone proves me wrong with facts then I'll be more than happy to learn something new :)
I think I've heard BMW and their guys stating so and I chose to believe. Let's see what we have about this :)

the frictional co-efficient is increased because of the higher load on the front wheels.

A small correction if I may: The frictional coefficiecient won't changed based on the load. It only depends on the surfaces. The friction force is what changes, as it's calculated as (friction coefficient)*(vertical reaction = load on front wheels)

:):D

  • Exceeding the µ-jump limit → 10:90

What's the μ-jump limit?

What's the μ-jump limit?

Used during ABS testing where left and right tires experience different traction coefficients. :)

If there's a cutaway to be found of any interest and whoever reads this: POST IT! Please do, I am a cutaway fanatic.)

Just for you mate, fill you boots.

And I've a lot more where that came from if you like. ;)

Sorry if I missed it, but any note on how much the A45 weighs and the weight distribution?

Haven't seen a published weight yet. The A250 SPORT weighs 1465 kg in Germany, which is 3230 lbs. Then add the new light weight 4Matic, additional cooling shown above, powertrain reinforcements/brakes etc. Folks on MB Passion are currently estimating 1550 kg (3418 lbs). ;)

More A45 AMG 4MATIC detail pics/cutaways. :)

i am a cutaway FANATIC. And kudos to Daimler, they do cutaway best followed by VAG. Unfortunately apart from engine cutaways BMW gives a s..t about cutaways.

Thanks Wolfgang(y)
