A-Class (W176) [Official] Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W176)

Has anyone taken their car back just to get the rattles fixed.
I haven't really got any rattles to get fixed. But taken it in for a creaking noise that has been reduced but not stopped. It is annoying but I can't reproduce it all the time so hard to track.

I think it is the seatbelt mount that has been reported before.

When was your car built again?

I read somewhere that there was a change to production to fix the issue... but I read it on a forum... so who knows...

we ordered in late June and still haven't received ours.
Been delayed twice and now dealership is saying ETA of arriving at their dealership on the 28th of Jan. The salesperson has not provided a VIN either so how can i trust that date of delivery?

Not unusual for the car to have already gone into a scheduled build date and the dealer is waiting for the VIN (in some cases 30 days)

My car was on the boat by the time I had my vin. Typically the boat will take six weeks from Bremerhaven to the East Cost of Australia

Ask when the build date was, if they confirmed it has gone into build the 28th of Jan sounds reasonable, just be aware that the 28th will be a best guess based on when the car has been built and then loaded onto a vessel, clear customs, prepped for delivery and then scheduled for a business day.

we were given that ETA back in mid November, so surely they would of gotten the VIN by now?
we are this close to cancelling our order

It is right on the cusp based off my personal experience.

I would call the salesperson (possibly assistant manager) again and express your position and hopefully he can work to alleviate the pain. Some of the dealers actively aren't giving out this info as it is resulting in an even bigger hit to customer satisfaction.

My car was ordered in May and is scheduled for delivery to myself on the 30th of December, I have a work colleague who ordered a heavily optioned A200 in March and is due to get his on the 18th.

Frostee, Mr Mercedes, Joyas have all experienced similar if not greater in some cases wait times. Not that it makes it less painful, though at least you are in good company... :)

Which dealer did you buy from?

Don't cancel! The wait will be worth it but it won't feel like it at the moment.
Keep asking for a VIN and then you can track it via one of the internet pages.
I waited 8 months I think for my GTI. Then my finance company lost the dealer's account details so I had to stare at my registered car through the front window of the dealer for another 3 days! THAT was by far the hardest time!
Tomee DON'T cancel your order because otherwise some bugger like me will essentially inherit your car you have waited so long for. I approached my local dealer and then a few days later they called me to say there was a fully optioned car arriving in 2 weeks from a cancelled order where the person ran out of patience and asked for his deposit back! All that waiting and only another 2 weeks. I almost died when they told me! I'm certain I'll never be lucky like that again! Stay with it and try to be patient. It's VERY difficult I know.

the dealer is 3 point in Kew.
we never get any proper responses from our salesperson.
numerous emails expressing our dissatisfaction with no compensation. We always have to follow up with him!
That is why we want to cancel our order

There must be a few like this if you're willing to let your fingers do the walking. I had gone to Fountain Gate South MB hoping for a testdrive in an A45 a while ago. No 45 for testdrive available but a few months later he called me up and I told him I picked up an A250, he told me they had one for sale in stock. Also told me that I would qualify for corporate (which annoys the stuffing out of me as it leaves some uncertainty as to whether or not I would qualify but dealer I bought from said I wouldn't). But yeah cancelling order now someone will pick it up nice and quick without the long wait.

That guy on the video is a dude! 250 looks good in black as well. Is the seat belt noise a very fine buzzing noise because I think I heard that a few days ago?

my wait was 5- 6 months so pretty typical I would say. especially since I pre ordered, demand has gone even more nuts since !

Oh dear! I know that dealer in Kew! They are absolutely atrocious, particularly Mr Yap, I think it is. They showed NOTHING but contempt towards my father and I. For God's sake, I was looking at a fully optioned 250 Sport and dad an A45! They wouldn't even give a test drive. "The people buying these cars mate don't need to test drive them! You won't have a hope in finding one to drive!" Dad went there 3 times and finally told you can go on a waiting list to test drive one! Maybe 1 or 2 months. But you have a demo in the showroom we said. Oh yes sir it's booked out.
Dad told me that he had 3 salesmen, at once, shout across the dealership "all presold, none available, our buyers pay in cash." We have lived in Kew for 40 years, dad and I are both professionals, earning a very decent income and most definitely have the money to spend on a new car (maybe not in cash though ). I HATE premium car dealers treating customers with contempt. Sorry I'm not spending $500,000 on a new SLS mate. But I COULD in 1 or 2 years (not me personally). Who are they to assume how much you earn or want to spend??? :greedy:
I called the other 3 Point motors in Fairfield after our experience at Kew.
Yes sir we have a 250 Sport AND an A45 to test drive tomorrow if you'd like! :D
What the!
Went on down there and met the delightful Khaled Zeitouneh who showed us round both vehicles. I would have bought from Fairfield except my local Geelong dealer called to say he had one arriving in 2 weeks. I'd been up there a week earlier and no cars to test drive and crap service so I forgot about them. Everyone on here would remember my dilemma of grab the car from the crap dealer or wait 8 months and get one from the nice guy and very friendly dealership. I grabbed the car from Geelong and contacted the Fairfield dealer's boss to say how much I appreciated his service and how CRAP they were at Kew and missed TWO sales.

TOMEE I think you should contact Khaled at Fairfield and see what he could do. They are the same business but different locations. Who knows, might be worth trying. Explain your situation. Also try other dealers. Mercedes say that they ALWAYS refund any deposits with no questions asked. I feel sorry for you being stuffed around by that mob.
Does anyone else have any ideas?

yep you snooze you loose in this business. don't have to suffer poor service ! reminds me when I bought my golf gti. the dealer around the corner from me showed no interest, then had the cheek to ring me a couple of weeks later to ask if I was interested in buying a gti. told him I was driving in a brand new one had picked up from their other dealer other side of town !
