"I'm in a similar boat"..... HAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
Congratulations to all those getting and expecting to receive in these next few weeks. Would love to hear your experiences with dealer (ie any gifts) with car, etc. I'm hoping my car will be on a boat this time next week. I have to say my dealer hasn't really kept me informed at all throughout the process. It has been mostly forums, probably the dealer is so used to delays and the time taken from order to delivery. If all goes well with mine I'm pretty lucky compared to other stories he's told me. Especially about a shipment of cars that arrived and then they were found to not meet ADR's so whole shipment had to go back to US where they were apparently manufactured for MB

Don't worry mate, I think most dealers are pretty busy and the level of information you get while in transit is very vague. I'm pretty sure this is just to manage expectations, as you can see - anything can happen between the factory/ocean/dealer.

I'll let you know what kind of goodies are included, although we did have a verbal agreement at purchase that merchandise would be part of the deal (just not specifics).

On a similar note, I'm very surprised that the polish footrest seller got his package to me in under a week!

Thanks kaktusdigital, I also had a verbal agreement on merchandise but no specifics as to what so Ill be interested to see what happens in regards to this.

Yes my Polish footrest arrived fairly swiftly.

Great news everyone! Good to see them starting to arrive for you all. It's not easy waiting months and months, but makes the delivery all the more special and exciting.

Good to hear from another Bris owner too - welcome MTBRider ツ. Another possible for a Bris meet when the others get theirs in the next couple of months?

Congrats man, I shouldn't be too far behind you either. My ETA is 23/09/2013 to be driving it. Also happens to be my birthday. Manufacture date is tomorrow :-). At least from the stage when it's on the boat you can track it without talking to your dealer :-)

You'll be in yours before me, if i want mine before the end of Oct, I will have to pay out my current Lease.....not sure I want to do that....but the temptation maybe too great to resist :D

Just downloaded "ship finder" from the App Store, looks pretty good, got the paid version so you can search the ships name.

$5.49..... Not to bad, a tad expensive but you only live once aye :)

I bought something similar to Track Flights a while ago, "Flightradar24 Pro", works brilliantly well too. A bit scary what stuff you can get these days ;)

I have a question for all of the new A-Class owners? Is this your first Mercedes and do you plan to buy another/move up the Mercedes lineup based on your experience so far?

Yeah it's fun tracking it. Don't be too worried when it falls off the radar as is heads down the West African Coast. It should reappear as it gets to South Africa and you'll probably lose it just after it leaves Durban. In my case it popped up again at Reunion, Isle of St Denis and is now off the radar and I expect will pop up again as it approaches Fremantle on Sunday.

On a side note I just found the following article announcing the launch of the A Class in India. Interesting spec. They are offering a diesel and what looks like an A180 gasoline model. Interestingly both models are given the diamond grille in the India spec.

Also, some news re a new diesel variant of the A Class A160 CDI. It doesn't say in the article but I expect that this is driven by emissions reduction requirements in Europe and associated taxes for vehicles. http://www.caradvice.com.au/239242/mercedes-benz-new-engines-expand-a-and-b-class-range/

This is my first Mercedes but one of several that we have had in our family over the years. It's hard to say whether I will by another. I'm a bit of a whore when it comes to marques, as the game constantly changes. For now the A250 is best in its class from my criteria perspective. When I come to replace it I will decide on the next one based on what is around then. I doubt I will go much bigger as I just don't have the need for a big car.

at this point I've spent waaaaaay more on a car than I ever thought I would. So lets see how things go, maybe a 2nd hand C-class in 10 years time..

That is a difficult question to answer. I'm getting my car in September, but I guess brand loyalty will require me seeing that I get a good run with the car. I am planning on buying another prestige car in the next 2.5-3 years for my wife something along BMW X1 or MB GLA lines but I guess I will leave that decision until I've seen if I have problems and how MB are to deal with and how I feel about the whole experience when that time comes. To be honest I'm personally hoping buying a good brand like MB I can drive the car for 10-15 years before changing. This is the time I've got out of Toyota without any major repair bills. I know that front and rear brakes are a major expense on MB and won't be too concerned if they last a reasonable time. But for me I will still have to wait and see

Well just had the first ever dealer initiated contact via SMS

Hello Jason your Mercedes Benz A250 goes into production today as schedule Regards Mark

So I'm hoping by Friday I should have a VIN. Then let the tracking begin.
