A-Class (W176) [Official] Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W176)

The W176 model was introduced at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show officially as a subcompact executive / C-segment model for the first time after being a supermini / B-segment for fifteen years.
Just sat with an Audi Dealer, I can still confirm that the A-Class is the standout value car IF you load it with options.

the 1.8L speced to my A200 order was 61.7k with an indication that you could haggle about 2.5k off.

It is still a standout if you don't load it up!

Chatswood.

My sales guy confirmed with me that my build date is confirmed to be June with delivery around Aug 19 - so im hoping this sticks.

I went to MB sydney but passed on them straight away as they didnt take me seriously... big mistake on their behalf.
Guys you want to come up to the sunshine coast and use our dealer. No bs, talk to you straight up, and know their products. Not sure what stock they have, but there's a nice black one (a200 I think) that I think got delivered with mine last week. It was still there yesterday.

I have been told my car will be ready on the 18th of June for pickup. Just under 3 weeks left after a long wait.........but who is counting.......I am! haha.

Agree, but they wouldn't discount at all. Nothing, zip. Centenary gave me a little discount and threw in a few carrots.

If it makes you guys feel any better, my order date was end of Jan 2013 and my expected delivery date is November :( South Africa is not high on the priority list!

saw the tv ad for the new audi a3 sportback. looks like a nice car if a little bland overall. I imagine the interior is a step up from golf gti but performance wise it lags the gti and costs a heck of a lot more. silly money actually when I looked audi. seems almost bizare you can pick up the a250 for money can :)

excellent. really not far away at all. I was counting sleeps :)

Yep, sure have. A gleaming mountain grey A250 Sport Engineered by AMG :joyful: and a heap of MB merchandise, which was a nice finishing touch by the dealer. Not that I've driven it. P'sing down rain, but I can say that even the short drive I've had, its better than I remembered
Now just need to bring on a fine weekend!

excellent ! the mountain grey is turning out quite a popular colour option :)

now you have been very sneaky keeping all this secret from us ! yes hope for a fine weather on the weekend for you ! hope get a good chance to drive it enjoy. We want some photos and early impressions :)

Come on mate, you know the official consumption figures are based on a very specific lab environment test...

take the A250 around a track you'l be lucky get 18l per 100lm

Yeah i know but with a range of 4.9 - 8.6 (i think for hwy to residential) with 6.6 as the average, i didnt expect it to jump up to 10 ~

few of us have some real world figures already, as per my previous post :)

as I posted in my review,
http://www.germancarforum.com/community/threads/mercedes-a250-amg-sport-vs-vw-golf-gti-mk6.48927/"around town I have averaged 10L/100 and with a mixture of country driving and cruising get about 7 L/100."

I would persoanlly grab the a250, can just cruise along or if want a few thrills its there for the taking :D

Silly question for the Aussies among us - does the a250 fit the full size 'euro-style' Queensland number plates? (520x112mm)

no restriction on the rear that I can see where plate goes. the black plastic mount I have on the front I checked is sized to take the large 520x112mm plate. so yeah should be able to take full size euro plates

New review for all the aussie buyers, pretty good too

Though 10L/100k instead of 6.6? that is a huge difference from advertised to actual :S
I think they are a bit too critical on the suspension. I didnt find it that bad, even on slightly bumpy roads, it certainly wasnt jittery. My mates 1 Series had a harder ride ( mostly due to the run flats ) than the A250.

Is this Toby Hagon related to that other (imho) ignorant motoring journo with the same surname? Good grief, 'engine sounds dull'? Funny that's the first comment everyone makes - how great it sounds. I could go on, but can't be bothered, these journos aren't worth the finger work. It would be great if they were critical of the real shortcomings, but these local journos haven't got a clue - some of the comments they make would seem to indicate they haven't actually driven the cars they review.
