Just wondering, is there a difference between the optional Becker Map Pilot nav and the nav system that comes with the Comand pack? Just that I've never heard the nav in the Comand pack ever refered to as the Becker Map Pilot.

different systems. the becker map pilot is a cheaper add on system, I think around $1k on the a class.

Yes they are different. Can't recall any specifics about why (or if) the Comand is better than the Becker though. The Becker system is a plug and play box found in your glove compartment. It's also is easier to upgrade maps

The Becker system also uses the standard screen module and not the larger display used by Command. Command also comes with other features such as DAB+ and a built in hard drive.

Hi alebonau, I know what you mean about the Black, maybe ill wait until we see the new Grill on the A 250 before asking if I can get colour coded mirrors as the new grill sounds like there is a fair bit of gloss black on it so it will complement the mirrors. And thanks for the info on Tint a Car, I think we have them in my State too.

Thanks guys for your nav replies. Much appreciated :)

I wasn't sure if they were the same or not. When I searched Becker system, there were some mixed opinions, but mostly negative from folks using it in Aust.

guys have been posting some indepth comparisons on another forum, between how finding my new a250 vs the mk6 golf gti I used to own. just about to wr@p that up and wondering if worth posting here some place. it is comparing two really nice german cars after all. and might be worth a read to someone. is there anywhere particular ie sub forum or separate thread should post it ?

Just had a play on the MB German Site Configurator and noticed on the A250, the mirrors had Red Highlights along the bottom of them, is that something new? The same thing doesn't appear on the Aussie Configurator. I'm not sure what i was selecting as my German isn't the best

Hi guys Hope you all well I see this thread growing and growing...Its one of the coolest threads in the forum currently.
I want to Tint my A class what do you guys suggest to go for the dark or the medium..

I was thinking medium as it wont be to dark and wont effect night visibility also it will serve the purpose of keeping car cooler plus will have smash and grab which helps in SA.

ill be going with LLumar which is the best bet I think in SA.

Also I am not sure yet what to do without my spare wheel...What is the tyre repair kit that I see some mention and how does it work with the Run Flats.

My car is shinning after the POLISH.I must say I wish I didn't have run flats.

for people interested in the BRABUS valve controlled exhaust for A250

THat was reallly cool. I wonder though if the modified exhaust on its loud setting would be illegal in Australia (noise levels)
Either way, we need more love from Brabus down here!

I got the Darkest legal Tint i could on my Mazda 6 and i will be doing the same on the A Class when i get it, The dark Tint works really well in the summer, you really notice it when you open the windows, and the dark helps keep out prying eyes :cautious:

I read your review and it was a fantastic read! Seeing as though the gti is such a direct competitor it's essential that more people see your thoughts. Certainly very relevant for me coming from a mk6 golf.
