A-Class (W176) [Official] Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W176)

The W176 model was introduced at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show officially as a subcompact executive / C-segment model for the first time after being a supermini / B-segment for fifteen years.
The Video Looks Awesome so nice to see them build the car...Very precise work.
Cant wait to get mine in two weeks or so.

I am changing my runflats to Normal Pirelli Pz Rosso 91 W MO

I need to buy a Black rim Biscuit tyre its going to cost me R3800.00 but I rather have the normal tyres then this Run Flat.

Wow, bargain fortuner. Only AUD$330 to change from runflats to standard tyres!

Are you going to get the Tyre Fit Kit as well in case of a puncture?

Mr Mercedes Nope I think you got me wrong lol..

I am doing a swap of my original tyres to runflats for that I will have to pay around R500.00 as they taking my run flats and giving me new Pirellis.

the I ordered a normal biscuit rim which is R 3800.00

The trye guy is doing me a favour as we have a fleet of around 15 truck to 20 and we buy a lot of truck tyres so they doing a favour..

lol...ok and there I thought you were good to go for $330. My bad.

Have you considered just trying the runflats for a few K's before swapping? Will they not accept them if they have a 100-200km's on them? Have you already tried them and been unsatisfied with the ride?

Good work. Definitely worth the swap. Can highly recommend the conti sport 5P we get on the oz a250 Amgen sport. Superb tyres :)

Ps picked up my daughter from kinder this evening and she says as we're walking upto the car...daddy your car has a big starfish on it ! So there not a three pointed star...it's a star fish ok ! : D

I have had Conti on my C classes and I am okay with them but not too exciting..

The run flats I used on a Demo B class were a bit of my taste

Also they wont change after a while I rather do it when its new... To avoid any issues.

that's interesting, i've read a few reviews stating 30 seconds.
Me too, only ever read 30 seconds and one I'm pretty sure was from MB, but then I've read so much I could be mistaken. Regardless, 166kw is the max output, not sure why they quote the lower figure? Doesn't make sense to me.

Not that it really matters, while some say they're a bit of a slug to 60k/m, after that they start to step into their own.

Hope mine don't come with conti's, I had them on the B7 and only got 18000k's out of them. Granted that was fronts only, but didn't think they were all that sticky either.

GREAT VIDEO! The most amazing part...seeing that somebody ACTUALLY ordered Canyon Beige. :wtf::ROFLMAO:

Dieter Zetsche and future Mercedes CEO, our very own forum contributor, @Wolfgang Bernhard!

PUBLIC APOLOGY.
Sitting here today with nothing to do (dive conditions off AoNang are atrocious at the moment), I've been reading through all the posts here and realise I have been calling Gumpy, Grumpy! My excuse is the predictive text corrections that my tablet makes, but regardless, my apologies Gumpy (I'm sure you're not 'grumpy' at all).

Looks like there's a few Brisbane or Sth East Qld folks here, so just wondering if any of you would be interested in joining with me for a track day with some of the vwwatercooled boys? I'm sure they would be happy to have us along, the few I know are nice people and I reckon they'd be sure interested in seeing an a250 around Lakeside! Won't be until later in the year, and nothing remotely serious, be good to get a few along for a bit of fun :)

Hang on, Wolfgang Bernhard and our beloved Wolfgang on the forum are actually same persons?

Or I didn't understand the joke and just made complete fool of myself... :)

Taking the a250 on a track will void the warranty no?

I believe they're referring to the Drive plus kit. Last time I asked for it at the dealer they said it wasn't offered in Australia. Major fail imo. Having integration with siri is quite a killer feature! But perhaps MB Australia think we'll be content with the Linguatronic whats-a-ma-call-it thing.

I couldn't even really get much info on whether this drive kit plus thing is just a software thing or an actual hardware addon. At this point it doesn't look like we're missing out on toooo much, unless you're a heavy facebook or twitter user. I can't see myself using the Aupeo internet radio thing.

@W201, I was just kidding. We haven't yet figured out if the two Wolfgangs are indeed one. :D But our Wolfgang just know's way to much info about Mercedes!

@Human, I'm confused. Both you and you wife think he's a good looking guy? As a straight male, I can comfortably enough agree.

@clip, a track day in Brisbane sounds like fun, if the warranty is not impacted. When do you get your car? For me, the wait till August is going to be a long one. :(

@kaktusdigital, apparently there's some legalities/compliance issues with the installation of the Drive Kit Plus in Australia. It appears to be both a software and hardware add on, with a cable being required to plug the iPhone into the Command Unit. I wonder if anyone will try importing and installing it.

I'm confident the warranty won't be an issue (I believe the local dealers would be happy seeing their new model out there- great exposure, but will confirm first. It is only a fun day, no racing, enforced rules).

I don't get mine until June, but I have a sinking feeling it may be later than that. It's the most anticipated new car I've ever bought and the waiting is bloody killing me!

Can anyone that has linguatronics answer a couple of questions for me please:
-Does it just work with the navigation, or does it work with radio, music etc?
-Does it work with bluetoothed phone i.e. can I use it to call up contacts, initiate calls etc?
-How well does it actually work?

Also, can't find it mentioned in any of the specs, does the Harmon Kardon system include a hard drive that I can load with music? I'd prefer that than having to hook up an ipod. And does it have digital radio, and now well does it work?
Thanks for help.

The COMMAND package does include a 10GB hard drive and digital radio. However, from what I've read online, it's a tedious task importing music from CD/DVD to the hard drive. The below is pasted from the Australia specification brochure.

COMAND Package
• COMAND APS with 17.8cm TFT colour display, HDD navigation with RDS-TMC, 10GB music register, single- disc CD/DVD player with MP3/WMA/AAC compatibility, AM/FM tuner, LINGUATRONIC voice control operation, Bluetooth and internet connectivity
• Harman Kardon® Logic 7® surround sound system including 12 loudspeakers and Dolby Digital 5.1/DTS
• DAB+ digital radio
