The stripes are a little too much for my taste, but why do I think of Abarth when I see it like that?

Are you guys not worried about the impact this tuning will have on your warranty?
Not sure with MB. With VAG tuners I only use Oettinger or APR. They both have warranty, not that I've ever had to claim, nor heard of anyone else having had one.

I did get a reply from one tuner and nothing at the moment as they are having problems cracking the code. Seems MB have picked up their anti-tuning protection in the CGI turbo versions of the Merc models that have been available for some time now. Haven't heard back from Brabus though.

Loving the A45! Although $30k more than the 250 puts the brakes on for me.

I wonder if we can retrofit the a45 gear shift onto the 250?

Kinda sucks that all A Classes come with the old embedded computer, while CLA and A45 seem to have the new one, anyone know if that's just a software update that could be done on A classes or if it's a complete new embedded computer?

The same was said about the Nissan GTR, and that computer was cracked as well. Give it time and someone will crack it.

Is there anything to expect? I've never attended a Merc event in Oz before. The only one I ever attended was in HK and it was a black tie affair.
The Merc events in Sydney are far more relaxed, just turn up in smart casual cloths and you will be fine.

A-Class starts on 23 February in Australia

The new A-Class is conquering the world - now the new model (W176) starts on 23 February (in the right-hand drive version) in Australia.

Mercedes-Benz introduces the new A-Class in Australia, of course, also including the present top model "A 250 SPORT" with its 211 hp. In addition to the top engine (A45 AMG is probably added later), there is the A 180 BlueEFFICIENCY, just as the A 200 BlueEFFIENCY - a normal A 250 is not offered "Down Under" for the time being, and as a diesel variant the A 200 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY is available. All vehicles are equipped with 7G automatic transmission, a manual transmission is not available.

Came out of the cinema last night with the wife and what instantly catch my eye was an AMG-Sport version of the A-class in red with the five spoke AMG rims, OMG that thing was achingly beautiful. Mercedes really have got the styling on this thing just right (take note Audi and BMW), in fact I can't even recall what the cars were parked either side of it which says a lot.

Seen it in white and viewed lots of pictures of it but at night in a light carpark and gleaming in red no words could do it justice.

Some photos from my test drive yesterday. Sorry for my finger in the first one. I still posted it as it gives a good idea of the car in black vs. white. I wish I could post a somewhat objective review, but I think I would need to drive the car again to do that. I was very excited to see this car and can comfortably say it looks pretty gorgeous in the flesh in A250 spec. I didn't spend enough time looking at the other A's.

Yes please do give us your impressions of the test drive objective of subjective i dont mind. But most importantly the ride ? How did you find the ride quality ? As I know this always been something you been wondering about :)
