Our footrest just arrived today also. Quality looks good. Hope it fits the a45.
Congratulations! It's so good to see so many of our cars on the way!
Mine just a couple of days ago started the voyage from South Africa to Fremantle.
When tracking your car just be aware that it will fall off the radar. For me it was invisible for most of the voyage past West Africa, and disappeared after leaving Durban South Africa. It popped up briefly at St Denis, Reunion and will now be off the air for several days till it gets to Fremantle. I can't recall which way your car is coming here as they also can come via the Panama Canal which is a quicker transit.
As for tracking prior to shipping, I'm not aware of anything. It's not going to be moving though as it will be sitting in a holding yard waiting for it's ride to Oz.
Just out of interest, what tracking site did your Dealer send you?
That's the one. Put the VIN in Cargo ID and you'll find the name of the ship and its schedule like thisThanks Guys, pretty pumped ATM
The website is: https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/ocean.do?method=getDefaultOceanQuickSearchPage
And to top it off, I got a call from the Lease Company and all is good, no changes in FBT for the life of the agreement !![]()

http://sagaweb.2wglobal.com/AppSche...ype=searchVoyage&searchVoyageString=CO322-CLP
Then go to www.marinetraffic.com and search for the vessel name. There are some other similar websites mentioned earlier in this thread
Enjoy the voyage!
Thanks all for your feedback. I want a sensible Mercedes next but I just can't ignore the goodness of the A45 and why pay double for a C63 when the A45 (even although it doesn't have a V8) does have amazing power. I will miss the V8 sound though.
Still deciding but after watching Chris Harris compare the A45 I'm pretty much sold![]()
It is very hard to compare cars that are so different in price. I currently have a family car with a V6 ATM while waiting for my A250. I could stretch the budget to an A45 but think in reality that money can be used for so many other things for my family other than myself and a car that is a little quicker. I couldn't stretch it to a C63. If money was no object I don't know whether I would go C63 just for sound. While the car feels bigger there're doesn't appear to be much more rear leg room but you definitely get more headroom in the car. If you could drive the cars above 100km/hr you may start to notice that the A45 isn't quite as quick but in Australia at least if you get caught too much over the speed limit or they consider that you are a hoon your car gets impounded.I must say, as much as I love the A45... Its sound does not come close to the C63Mercedes were rev'ing the A45, C63 and SL65 here at the Top Gear festival a couple of weeks back (a beautiful sight!). The A45 sounded like it was made out of tin cans compared to the others. Its still an amazing engine tho
I also personally find the the A45 grill looks a little on the cheap side up close. At a distance you dont really notice.
why not pick up one of the last of the M3 V8's, that engine is awesome and the sound is sublime, and they're doing deals on them. Probably become quite collectable in the future too. Thanks all for your feedback. Unfortunately, at 1:18 scale....one of the "freebies" thrown in by the dealer.
Now I have a permanent reminder on my desk of the car I don't have
Quite a detailed model, just needs the pano roof!
I too had to do a double take on this, something didn't look quite right. Having said that its a great model. Good luck to you! It's arrived!

My car is just about to set sail for Fremantle!
My car is expected to be built a few days early originally 2nd August now 24th of July so mine shouldn't be too far away. According to my dealer there is going to be quite a few models incl CLA that will be late releases because of shortages.I got my Vin No today from the dealer so it's all systems go
I received the link from the Dealer to Track the car once its on the ship but Is there a website to track it prior to shipping or am I asking to much ?![]()
Thanks Joyjas, that's the first I've heard of grille differentiation between those with and without drive assist. Makes sense. We'll know soon enough! In speaking with my dealer today he mentioned some changes in the front grill, at the moment most A Class have the big black Mercedes star in the middle apparently this will in future be only for those with Driver assist package the ones without that package will just have the silver emblem. The short distance radar will be located in other spot on front grill.
Not sure if this is the only change on front grill but that's what I was told anyway, I think frostee asked about that

Also, a mate of mine has an A200 on order and he has a August build scheduled. His Dealer just called this afternoon advising that due to sunroof shortage his build will be delayed to October. My friend reminded the Dealer that he hadn't ordered a sunroof. The Dealer called back and said it was a false alarm and that there would be no impact to his August build. Certainly reaffirms what we've hear from many that there is a sunroof shortage. It wasn't clear whether A250's are impacted.
Yes that is what I understand too, Shillo. Apparently there is also a shortage of sports seats for A45'sMy dealer said at the end of last week that A250's are currently not affected, due to the roof being standard on that model, until they run out of them altogether I suppose.
