I am BMW-biased, yes, but I often criticize this brand and I often give praise to Mercedes, which is a brand I like. So you didn’t excactly hit the nail on its head with me. Are there others that criticize Mercedes in a unreasonable way just because they don’t like this brand? I am sure there is. That's why I made the pot and kettle reference.

So people have the right to their own opinions as long as it doesn't attack someone on a personal level, isn't abusive and it doesn't discriminate or pregidious.

You attacking certain members for not appreciating the car the way you see it is not grounds for going around calling people haters and is quite distasteful.

People have different opinions and it's what differentiates from each other but we need to do this in a respectful way.

Now I just like you, think this is a fantastic effort from Mercedes although I do have my concerns.

There are other people who don't share our opinion and that's okay.

Despite Merc1's assertions that this is a "sudden"... change in opinion it's been at least 4 years since I pointed out that building a road car to a set of tighter regulations (i.e. F1) is stupid... there's been no reasonable counter argument in all that time, so I wouldn't expect one now. There's a failure in comprehension of facts here that's being glossed over by calling other people haters.... but that really, really, isn't going to change, so as Martin says, you may as well move on since you're not going to see eye-to-eye with Merc1 on this.

So all sports, hyper, super cars have to adhere to a set of predetermined parameters in order to even be respected (not praised). Doing something different, risky, challenging is not allowed I guess. Why does there have to be a counter argument for a sports car (or any sports car) of this ilk in an enthusiast community? Where and what are the arguments for all other cars at this level? There are no facts being glossed over. Don't try to pass off your view on this car as facts because they aren't, they're merely your opinion. That's the only "failure" I see here.
