AMG ONE [Official] Mercedes-AMG Project ONE

The Mercedes-AMG One (R50, previously known as Project One) is a limited-production plug-in dual hybrid sports car manufactured by Mercedes-AMG, featuring Formula One-derived technology. Production: August 2022 – 2025 (275 units planned).
Mercedes-AMG One Production Version Has Over 1,200 Horsepower: Report

Some juicy unconfirmed details, coming right up.

The Mercedes-AMG One is coming, and Mercedes isn't short in letting the world about its development. As we have seen in a previous track testing footage, the German marque is still in the tweaking stages – a process that could be testing the patience of those who have already committed to buying each of the 275 examples of the F1-powered hypercar.

If you're among the one-percenters who will be shedding $2.75 million from their bank accounts, well, you'll be glad to hear these rumors we gathered for the AMG One.

According to The Supercar Blog, there are reports saying that exterior changes will come with the AMG One, including what is being called a "larger fixed aerodynamic part at the rear." While that's kind of vague and considering that the prototype shown in the track testing video (below) comes with an active rear spoiler, the next one's more definite.

Rumors say that there will be four exhaust pipes at the rear and not three as previously seen on the prototypes. The wheel designs will be different, as well, but that's pretty much a given.

More importantly, the 1.6-liter V6 hybrid E-turbo powertrain is currently being tweaked by Mercedes-Benz. Reports suggest that the whole ensemble of engine and electric motors will produce a combined output of 1,200 horsepower (895 kilowatts).

Of course, take these details with a healthy dose of skepticism since these bits are not yet confirmed by the brand. We can also guarantee that the 275 would-be owners of the AMG One would have known those changes by now, so yeah it's just for us mere mortals to speculate on.

We'll know more whether these updates are true when the AMG One hits the limelight next year, with deliveries expected to begin by the second quarter of 2021.

Mercedes is taking too long to launch this car and it better be a VERY fast car by the time it finally reaches the market.

Given it's competitor over at Aston Martin has had an even more tortured development, I'm just grateful it hasn't been canceled.

Different cars for different purposes.
Well all three seem to be focused on track performance with the Valkyrie and the Bugatti seeming to focus on lightweight design. Some are saying that the Bugatti is a future LMH entry and iirc that the Valkyrie was to race in the LMH class as well before that plan got axed.

Imo they all seem to be pretty similar.

The difference is that the Merc and Aston will be also road-legal, unlike this Bugatti.

Yeah the Bugatti doesn't look very street legal, but I'm hoping they have both variants of the model.

Weren't AM also building an AMR Pro version of the Valkyrie? If so we can surely compare them on that front.

Point is, that AM and AMG have spent so much time doing these projects that I feel Bugatti may swoop in on them from nowhere., and its bound to have impressive numbers. I personally feel that the new bug is going to have the equivalent 'track-car' impact of the Veyron's on top speed.

I'm really wishing MB all of the luck and everything with this car, this is sick thing and i'm really looking forward to it. Kudos to MB & AMG for this project today or tomorrow the real deal, you have to have everything to make such car, road legal, F1 powered, loud beast, glued to the road/track... Fvck! All of us here like to see that happening. I will not comment the looks as i'm not fan of it. Front is ok and in some pics actually looks great (despite boring headlights), rest i don't like from what i've seen so far, but i'm sure that engine, it's position, gearbox, drivetrain, etc and all other technologies + safety are the things that influenced it's design , but who cares for that? This is something you need to have Jupiter size balls to make and for sure sell it and make money of it, especially in these times... :eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap Respect to MB, i really appreciate the company (despite making many ugly looking cars :D)

Can't wait to see and hear in person (if ever) my 1st AMG ONE...

Just put two V6's together and make it happen. I don't think it will last more than 10 000km

What do you mean? The engine is designed to last 50,000 km before rebuild. This is not a Bugatti Bollide, which is a track only car. This is a full on road car.

I certainly wouldn't want to have to rebuild the engine of my car every 30k miles, but then I don't know what's normal for a hypercar.
