Indeed it is. It's like a rear wheel drive German Nissan GTR.

I think a lot has to do with their higher power trims, I.e. the purported ~1000hp hybrid model, and perhaps their race cars.

The GTR is a great car and a car I wish BMW could build, but the SLS BS is just a special car one of my fav MBs. I really love that car.

I guess the naming convention just got weird. Usually you had an AMG C63 Black Series or an AMG SL65 Black Series, but here you have a GT, GT S, GT R and a GT Black Series.

The car I'm really looking forward to though is the Mercedes-AMG One Black Series.
