I so wish car manufacturers goes back to quality die cast companies to make their models, rather than sub standard models at premium prices.

I agree with you compared to the 2000 era BMW's exclusively from Kyosho.
There have been a dramatic decline in quality. Mainly Due to rising costs.
But also for the premium manufacturers such as AutoArt in some cases they are now sealed or rendered in resin. A far cry from what they where or should be.

Exactly, which is a shame, I used to love those BMW models from Kyosho. What Autoart is doing atm is a disgrace, thankfully other companies such as TrueScale and Almost real models are stepping up their game.

When was the last time a Mercedes had this much presence from the rear?

In a world of increasing number of crossovers, Mercedes are making sedans great again.

A great photoshot of an immensely polarizing automobile. It can bring one to his/her knees in awe. It can be a total turnoff. But it will never be...boring.

Ok this is gonna sound hella biased but anyway.

So i drove the GT63S today.
A red one, black interior.

Came up to the car which was dirty, but my oh my , it is one ugly SOB. Im sorry MB it is just plain ugly the rear is just to much to talk about it, it had the fixed wing. i feel ashamed looking at it. the front is also very awkward.

Interior is way more cramped than my Panamera, you can really feel that its based off a smaller car (E class).

So i started it up, and jesus christ that engine note is something else, just insane.
The digital screen buttons on the side of the central tunnel are pretty cool , the car had heated steering wheel so it lacked the rotarary dial.

So first impression rolling out is that the car is very soft, like amazingly comfortable ( i would really like to drive the E63 as i heard that its harsh). Its like this typical mercedes benz lofty soft kind of comfortable. I would say much more sense of comfort than the panamera.
Its not only the suspension but the way it responds to the throttle, the gearbox and also the steering.
It felt dissconected in all those areas in comfort mode.
My first thought was hmm this feels slow for 630Hp.

Fast forwarding through the modes i end up in race, and now my friends.. this is a different car, its even more jekyll and hyde than my panamera. it is just f#cking off the scale.
It is so damn fast that breaks loose at over 150kph and also the lift on the front axle during acceleration makes it feel like a motorcycle doing a wheelie, you can feel that you have less steering ability as weight shifts from the front axle.

Now the power delivery even in this race mode is very interesting.
Compared to they hybrid system of my car i feel that there is delay, a very slight delay but there is one, also the gearbox is not as sharp as the pdk, not even near.
When it then hooks up its gone, you know the sense you get in all cars that they run out of breath later on in the rpm band. forget it in this one, its like a f#cking roller coaster train that hit another accleration part after 5000rpm and it just gets a second breath.'
So when people talk about linnear power delivery in turbo cars, this one solves that by doing the ketchup effect twice. i have never experienced such power delivery. And its a great damn feeling. Its a riot this car.

But it is no where near as sharp in steering, gearbox or power delivery as my hybrid panamera.
I just wish i could drive the Turbo S e hybrid to compare as they are direct competition.

So
Pos: Immense sound, immense engine and power delivery.
Neg: Looks, numbness of steering and the feeling of a blunt force instrument.

PS
Would i change it for my Panamera, never .. nope.. just based off how it looks i wouldnt. and driving it didnt change my mind.
I would keep my 480hp porsche rather than having this 630hp AMG.

PPS
I must say that i belive the torque fill ability and zero rpm torque of electring engines really compliment an ICE turbo engine in a way that is amazing.
I belive this is the way forward, especially as they make batteries lighter.

Have you tested the M5 comp yet, or maybe you are affraid of some kind of contamination?

I sat in an M5 earlier this week, those seats are amazing.
I would really love to drive one, but i can't deal with the people that work there, or be seen driving the damn thing.
Oh and its a damn boring looking thing to.

The dynamics seems to be nothing but excellent!

In all honesty, with the caveat of having driven the two so far apart, the GT feels to ride very similarly at low speed to an E63. That means pretty rigidly in fact, car clenched and unrelenting even in the most accommodating setting of the AMG Ride Control+ suspension. Is it more excusable in a car of a more sporting bent? Perhaps, though there's a suspicion a Panamera might be a little less tough.

Above about 30mph or so, concerns evaporate. At motorway speeds the stability is faultless, refinement superb and the powertrain near-perfect, happy to delve into bountiful torque reserves rather than shuffle down the nine-speed gearbox. Still, when it does that, the gearchanges are swift and decisive, and the commensurate jump in performance is huge. All too soon the thought of flying home seems terribly inconvenient; the prospect of 564 miles in a GT 4-door sounds like bliss.

If anything, the big Benz is even more likeable on a twistier road. The E63 is no blunt instrument, yet the GT takes its dynamism up markedly. The suspension and steering work mean the car is both more composed and communicative than the other four-door 63, but it's the four-wheel steer - first seen on the AMG GT R, don't forget - that has the biggest impact. While always feeling natural and consistent, the GT is more direct, more nimble and more accurate than an E63 has ever been, never falling into the occasional 4WS trap of trying to contrive something that isn't there. The tech doesn't attempt to convince the driver that the GT is a substantially smaller car; instead it simply contributes to a feeling of immediacy and immersion seldom seen in something this big.

On the fast, flowing A-roads near the Cairngorms National Park, indeed even on the smaller roads around there, the GT 63 is immense; there's trust in the precision of the front end and the traction of the rear (albeit with a rear-driven balance to the 4WD certainly apparent), unimpeachable body control, powerful brakes and all the V8 thunder you could ever desire. Comfort mode with the exhaust on actually works well as a catch all setting, though there's something addictive about the intensity and aggression of the sportier settings, particularly with a ride that's not as punishing as expected. If your conscience can live with two tonnes and five metres of what feels like a four-wheeled destroyer doing its thing in public, then go for it - there are few more caddishly mischievous (yet hugely entertaining) ways to travel.

Steering seems to be spot on;)
Like your average British B-road. The GT doesn’t feel as wide as the Porsche. It’s easy to place thanks to accurate, immediate, sharp steering – that’s one of the car’s dynamic highlights, crisper and more informative than you’ll find in any other super saloon, from BMW M5 to Audi RS6. And it manages to shrug off its weight, never feeling like the 2.1-tonne heavyweight it actually is. The centre of gravity is low, roll minimal, grip strong. It’s rewarding, engaging to drive – as much, if not more, pure fun to drive than the E63. Better body control than junior, thanks to extra body stiffening and altered suspension, too.

You notice the rear-wheel steering aiding turn-in, perhaps aiding a little too eagerly in Sport+ mode. It makes astonishingly rapid, composed progress. You can drive it smoothly, or indulge its inner hooligan, and it relishes both approaches equally. Non-S version? A little less punchy at the top end, a little less snappy into corners, no show-boat Drift Mode. Perhaps, the sweeter, more natural of the two, but you’d want the S.

lOl, M5s interior (except for the seats) is about as exciting as a 530i.

@LaArtist how you compare the fit & finsih and the luxury feel of the GT interior vs the Panny?
