G-Class (W463) [Official] Mercedes-AMG G63 AMG (W463, second generation)

The Mercedes-Benz W463 G-Class and its military counterpart, the W461, are the successors to the W460, and predecessors to the W465/W464. Production: W463, first generation (1990–2018). W463, second generation (2018–2024). W461 military variant (1992–2022). Model years: W463, first generation (1991–2018). W463, second generation (2019–2024).
The fact that this is a new Designo color is awesome. Quite a few new G63's running around the US, seems like they've haven't bothered with the non-AMG G-class here yet since the 63 outsells it by a lot.

What is your opinion on the interior quality?

Quite impressive acutally, especially in light of MB's imfamous expense cuts to increase profit margins in certain models. I saw in your Goodwood thread you've since experienced it yourself.

It's a really nice, comfortable place to be with it's commanding road view.

Not sure if you have seen it but AMG just release those wheels for the AMG GT-4

Not a fan of it on the CLS, but there's potential if the lugnuts were exposed and there's a bit more three dimensionality to it.

Ideally, what I'd like to see something like this but with thicker spokes...

The G-wagen has this austere brutality to its design, seeing thinner spokes belies the car's personality. Seeing thinner spokes or multi spokes just seems effete on it. What I like about Monoblocks from yesteryears were that they were a simple design without any needless design flourishes but managed to look good. Ugh, I think I need a 2nd cup of coffee to actually coherently articulate my thoughts.

I can't wait to see the sales numbers for this. Mercedes dealers are going to be printing money for years off this one.

Yeah it's downhill at MBUSA. Website is terribly inaccurate, late putting up new models, and the whole look of it needs to be revamped. MBUSA put out literature about the 2019 E3350 (299hp) and then had to retract it and go back to the E300. It's a mess at ATL. Must be a much younger workforce with a lot of the senior employees electing NOT to move to the south.

I wouldn't blame it on younger employees. Office moves are tough and MBUSA has been making last minute product changes for a while now. The E350 decision came extremely late.

IMO there is no excuse for the E300/E350 debacle. You don't put out dealer ordering guides until you know for sure that the car is going to be offered. Disagree about the younger staff. On some of the owner sites, it has been mentioned a few times that a good chunk of the seasoned staff didn't make the move. The whole C400/C450/C43 change was very poorly handled also.

I was making a statement that its more of a tenure thing than an age thing. They've been hiring at a pretty good clip in ATL from what I've seen. It's just a lot of new people in the office, not necessarily young. And the C-class changeover thing occurred well before the office move was even in motion. The new office is nice though; they were wise to hire Gensler. I stopped by soon after it opened.

Oh yeah, sorry I mean senior as in those with seniority in the company too, not just actual age.
