Actually not that expensive, it is about the same price as the S 450L and $50k AUD cheaper than the S 560.

And to think Mercedes was going to cancel this vehicle back in 2005-2006 for the new GL. Now I think it's safe to say that the G has secured a permanent place in the MB lineup.

If Mercedes hasn't nailed any other product in recent years perfectly, they have with the G-Class. Last time they got a new vehicle this right was the W222 S-Class in 2013.
