P1 [Official] McLaren P1 Supercar

The McLaren P1 (codenamed P12) is a flagship sports car produced by McLaren Automotive. It is the second installment in McLaren's Ultimate Series after the McLaren F1. Considered to be the spiritual successor to the F1, the P1 was one of the first high performance sports cars to be introduced incorporating hybrid technology; the Porsche 918 Spyder having begun taking orders prior to the P1 and the LaFerrari introduced alongside it.

. :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Looking at this video and doing some slow motion stoppage at various intervals, the P1 is slightly faster than the LeFarrari to 230km/h if the accuracy of their speedo's is correct!!! The acceleration in the video seem slow for both up to various speeds.

McLaren P1 GTR teaser
Will be built after P1 production ends
McLaren has announced the track-only P1 GTR which is set to become the company's most powerful model ever.
Programmed to be sold exclusively to P1 owners, the GTR represents McLaren's ultimate track toy but it will be an expensive one as pricing has been established at a whopping 1.98M GBP (3.3M USD or 2.48M EUR) which makes it considerably more expensive than the 866,000 GBP road-going P1.
While the "regular" P1 churns an already impressive 916 PS (674 kW), the GTR variant will be tweaked even further to reach the 1,000 PS (736 kW) mark. It will look more aggressive and will likely feature a fixed rear wing instead of the P1's automatically deployable unit. Other changes will include widened tracks and a set of track-spec slick tires - all created "to offer optimised performance around a lap."
Production of the P1 GTR will commence sometime in 2015 after the final 375th road-going P1 will be completed and the model will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the legendary F1 GTR. McLaren doesn't say how many cars will be built but they do mention production will be "strictly limited" and all owners will benefit from a tailored program which will include consultations with the firm's driver fitness team and Design Director Frank Stephenson.
Moreover, customers will have access to the McLaren racing simulators and will take part in at least six international drive events. McLaren doesn't specify whether P1 GTR owners will be in the possession of their cars at all times or if they will allow clients to use their cars on various occasions, just like Ferrari is doing through its FXX program.

According to fastestlaps.com, the McLaren P1 did 6:47 in the Nordschleife (K. BRACK as driver) and 1:10 in the Top Gear test track (The Stig). Do you have any idea from where these data come from?

i'm a member of fastestlaps and as long as there is no backup source for the lap it's not staying

we've also had a problem with a troll over there posting fake lap times

the 6:47 is only rumoured as far as i know and mclaren did not send a car to be compared on the top gear test track (see porsche 918 thread)

Definitely it was a troll because those laptimes were posted on july 27 and fastestlaps had remove them a few minutes ago.

This new trend of track only and not owned car is a farce.

McLaren Special Operations bringing customized P1 and 650S Spider to Pebble Beach

P1 commissioned by North American customer
McLaren Special Operations will showcase a couple of customized models later this month at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

First up, the unique 650S Spider has been created by MSO in collaboration with McLaren Newport Beach and McLaren Automotive Design Director Frank Stephenson. It can be distinguished by a Cerulean Blue exterior paint scheme contrasting the satin carbon fiber detailing on the front bumper, side air intakes and the rear bumper's central area and diffuser. It sits on ten-spoke lightweight alloy wheels and has also received chromed exhaust finishers.

On the inside it comes with carbon black leather upholstery with contrasting blue stitching. Also fitted are MSO-branded carbon fiber sill panels along with satin lacquered carbon fiber inserts. There's also a dedication plaque and a MSO leather bag with dark chrome metal inserts.

Moving onto the special P1, it was commissioned by a North American customer who selected a Stirling Grey paint with glossy carbon fiber accents and McLaren Orange accents also seen on the brake calipers located behind the body-colored wheels. Around the engine bay and inconel exhaust there's a 24 carat gold heatshield, as a throwback to the legendary F1 of the 90s.

The interior cabin is covered in a combination of Alcantara and carbon fiber while the carbon shell racing seats come with a four-point harness. The upholstery benefits from Stone Grey binding and stitching and as a final touch there are satin nickel air vents featuring the same look as the exhaust finisher.

Both cars will be showcased at the end of next week during the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in Carmel, California.
