The 1/4 mile is a little soft and YES I'm AWARE of incline and decline factors, but it's the same for all racers. Real World, real production cars, real drivers REAL conditions!

I'm pretty good on timings and nothing looks out of the ordinary here or any tuning done on this particular car, not impossible but trap speeds don't support it. McLaren 720's have gone higher?

It doesn't need tuning!🙂

GERMANY the 2nd Race! McLaren 765LT breaches 180MPH in the 1/2 mile under 16 seconds.🙂

I’ve driven both, hard, back to back. P1 has a slightly softer ride, but not in race made. P1 sounds crazier inside with the blowoff valve. 765 has better steering feel. p1 is more immediate in throttle response but to me 765 feels like it has more outright pace.

We actually ran both cars with timing equipment and my 765 that day pulled 60-100 mph in 2.22, 60-130 mph in 4.70, and 60-150 mph in 7.04 seconds. The P1 pulled 2.29, 4.82, and 7.19 seconds, respectively.

Traction control is more advanced on 765 and you can feel that. My best 0-60 mph that day was 2.75 seconds against a P1 best of 3.06. Big difference.

765 also feels lighter and more immediate at turn in.

Looks wise I prefer the P1 in race mode but 765 when P1 isn’t in race mode. It sits up too high. There is something called race mode 2 which your dealer can install that is like
Half way between race and street. The car looks good that way.

Overall I preferred the P1 as an overall experience mostly due to the drama and that crazy sound. But I think, as a pure drivers car/speed machine the 765 is better.

The P1 too me looks even more better now than when I first saw it 10 years ago. It still looks modern and not aged at all. You have to give McLaren kudos; they designed that car far ahead of its time. 916PS is still a shit load of power even nowadays. Ok the most extreme new Hypercars and Nevera will absolutely thrash it in acceleration, but it still is a blindingly fast car.

I think on a track it would take on the vast majority of them, and prevail (Edited to state the Mclaren 765.):)

I know you stated the Mclaren P1, obvioulsy I wasnt concentrating, LOL! I has "acceleration" in my head and I know it's a beast. Apologies.

Eh, it’s a handful. Trust me. Slightly undertired. Traction control it’s 10 years aged so it can be a bit loose. The thing on track is confidence. You have to 100% trust what your car is going to do. Excitement and confidence are very different. P1 is exciting on track (and road), but can be scary.

Sorry I was talking about the Mclaren 765LT, should have made it more clear there and above~ apologies.

Obviously you know it's got very manic acceleration.🙂

Oh ya LT will hang with pretty much anything provided I can get heat in sticky tires. It’s a remarkable thing and it’s undervalued in the market place.

The Triple F McLaren 765LT Spider! Absolutely stunningly gorgeous that faded paintwork is definitely McLaren Special Operations.

I have been looking for a poster car of sorts. For now, this is IT.💙
