Official Thread [Official] Lotus Electric Hypercar now confirmed

Especially normally aspirated supercars like the Aventador and Hurácan. I think smaller turbo-hybrid and fully electric will be the powertrains of the supercars of tomorrow.

I would like to watch a similar video about the cooling of the batteries and how much air pass through radiators.

The weight of the Evija will be 1680kg. Which is very good...

But not very good for a Lotus.

I understand this a halo supercar and all that but I wish Lotus stuck to their core philosophy and built a lightweight BEV instead of chasing outrageous performance numbers that are useless in the real world.

You need to change your character name from Porsche Guy to Sleepy Old Guy...joking. I assume you like the German brand cause you like speed, then this 2000PS car doesnt give you one bit of excitement? Lotus are a sports car brand that have been known to push new boundaries in sports car design/engineering, look at the 7, Elan, Esprit, Elise and also the 79 F1 car. All genius.

When you look at the advanced aero on this then you see what the Tesla Roadster 2.0 looks like, you begin to wonder about Elons claims.

Of course. Elon's claim, we all know, are exactly that: claims.
Claims to keep a company running that has not made money and is supported by speculation, the market, and cult-like fans.
If I were Elon, I'd do the same.

That Tesla looks nothing like "a regular" product. If Porsche would build a hardcore Taycan we would also be talking about different numbers. I don't believe Musk a single thing...

No claims from Tesla. This time comes from a video taken from a spectator, which of course could be manipulated. But it sounds absolutely realistic. Furthermore this drivetrain will be used in the Cybertruck, the model S and the roadster. I suppose the roadster is delayed, because the model S will have very similar dynamics and they would like to shift the appeal to it.

What exactly is not probable to be accomplished? We have already seen the Pleid drivetrain on Nürburgring(20 sec faster than the Taycan)so it's ready.

The video of the Model S mule on the 'ring don't corroborate any of the launch claims published 909 days ago... I'm not going to speculate as to how likely any of these are individually, I'm sure they're all possible in isolation, but until demonstrated otherwise in an official capacity, I'm working on the basis they're delaying the R2.0 because they can't achieve at least one thing, or certainly all these things in the same package yet, even if that's just down to price.

The Lotus clearly has some interesting aero features going on, the Tesla less so. Time will tell if it needs them or not.
