IS/RC Official Lexus IS-F Thread (Pics & Info)

Re: Official: performance car from Lexus IS-F

Right now I'm working on a major Lexus consumer event that kicks-off late Summer. The IS-F is tentatively scheduled to be part of the show, however this may change depending on the availability of functional specimens. Stay tuned.

You work for Lexus? In what capacity?

No. He works for AMCI, an automotive marketing consultancy firm. They specialize in coordinating events for automakers that allow customers to interact with brand and products, like ride and drives, where they get to compare one make against another and so on. Think "Taste of Lexus" - which is probably the event he's discussing here.

Oh, yeah I've been to some of their things and car makers use their test figures for commercial/claims all the time.

That's right Merc. AMCI began in as a car testing / claim substantiation bureau and has since grown into one of the world's largest consumer event consultancies. What sets us worlds apart from similar agencies is the fact that we're we deal exclusively in automotive.

Most recently you would have seen our fine print in Toyota Tundra's TV spots. On the road, we are currently engaged in numerous programs including the North American introduction of smart. Coming to a city near you:
smart goes to the USA

Back to the IS-F - I've just been informed that there's almost no chance the car will play any part in this year's consumer event. However the LS 600h L will be in attendance, so there's still plenty to be excited about.

Why dont we hear anything about this car? Feels like it has been "on its way" forever now...

Looks like I may be involved in the IS-F presence at this Fall's SEMA convention, so it's safe to assume that the cat will be out of the bag by then. Probably another 2-3 months until journalists get their hands on one.

The specs doesn't move me out of my chair but with decent design and attractive price it might be worth a second glance. Just don't screw it with the design Lexus!

Weak as hell, won't stand a chance against its main rival the C63 AMG. Forget the M3 and RS4 too, they'll pound this Lexus silly if those are really the numbers.

Since Lexus are proudly showing off their new bad boy it seem like the car is more or less completed. My stomach refuses to digest the looks and the car is still a little too tricked-out-Japanese-car for my taste. Might look a bit less disastrous in real life though, but we'll see.

^^^ Pics up there, re-defines the term, "decent-evil" :D...!

Looking mighty fine to me. Thanks for the shots Luw.

You guys can say what you want..but I'm starting to like this thing a whole lot. The press photos didn't give me much of an impression, but the recent swack of pictures has given me new appreciation for the vehicle. I think this car will honestly be a case of "looks much better in the flesh".

Meanwhile, you can't argue that It sounds fantastic. :icondrool

My Lexus fanboyism is showing :D

I really hate the tailpipes & the side panel vents... as Luw said, it's too tricked out for my taste. I prefer the normal IS350 by a mile.

Nice effort by Lexus, still could never touch my love<. Looks a little on the gaudy side, still a nice effort and I give Lexus props for having the balls to taken on the Germans in the compact entry exec sedan segment.

Yeah the side panels are my biggest problem. The tail pipes are a little weird but those can easily be replaced. It looks pretty good in this picture though:

Right now I'm working on an invite-only IS-F event that begins next Saturday.

I can't wait to get my hands on the car. :D
