Gemera [Official] Koenigsegg Gemera (a.k.a. 4-door Koenigsegg?)

The Koenigsegg Gemera is a limited production four-seat plug-in hybrid grand tourer (or 2-door sports saloon) to be manufactured by the Swedish automobile manufacturer Koenigsegg. It was unveiled on 3 March 2020 at an online broadcast by Koenigsegg at the cancelled Geneva Motor Show.
Spotted my first Gemera today. Close to Koenigsegg airfield. Had fake plates so maybe on the way to their testtrack?
First I thought it was an Laferrari but when he came closer I saw what it was.
Very low and wide and brown/cooper colorish. I was on my motorcycle so I gave him thumbs up.
No pictures, sorry,

Have a nice summer all!

Niiiiiiice. I am curious if seating for 4 make the proportions look awkward IRL, what's your take on that?

Are they now building a proper production facility rather than the existing old Swedish Airforce hangers.

"Dry weight: 1843 kg / 4063 lbs
Curb weight: 1988 kg / 4383 lbs"

I'm positive originally they were targeting 1850KG curb weight. But Rimac and Lotus weights have too recently gone up as development progresses.

Edit>

This is the United Kingddom dealer and website.

"The immense torque combined with the relatively low curb weight of 1850 kg means that the Gemera can go from 0 to 100 km/h in only 1.9 seconds and from 0 to 400 km/h in record matching pace. To top things off, it also comes fitted with a lightweight 800V battery which enables the Gemera to go full electric for up to 50 km."

I was right, I thought so. So nearly two tonnes then.

"The TFG makes "only" about 500 horsepower on regular pump gas. This is a flexible-fuel engine optimized to burn alcohol—ethanol, butanol, or methanol, or any combination thereof. Alcohol fuels are great for performance, but Koenigsegg says their use is also a key part of making the TFG clean, since they generate fewer harmful particulates than gasoline. And with sustainably-sourced fuel, the TFG can be effectively carbon-neutral."

Only time I can recall the horespower figures stated whether unofficially or not in print, so that's a 18.1818% difference. 600hp to 500hp.

(https://www.calculatorsoup.com/calculators/algebra/percent-difference-calculator.php little calculator I use)

But I know the hybrid C63 AMG has "With 469bhp and 335lb ft of torque, the engine on its own is the most powerful four-cylinder currently in series production." <Autocar.

And that's without the use of specialized or sophisticated camless technologies. (Freevalve)

We will just have to wait for final figures if they are ever released that is, to do a more in depth benchmark.

"Swedish hypercar maker Koenigsegg has long been a home for novel engineering, and that's evident in its new electric motor. Developed for the Gemera four-seater, this electric motor, dubbed the Quark, is a tiny powerhouse. In a package that weighs just 63 pounds, the Quark develops 335 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. For scale, that's a 330-mL energy drink in the pictures seen throughout.

The Quark, announced Monday, combines both radial- and axial-flux constructions to offer a good balance between power and torque. Rather than explain the difference between the two, I'll turn you towards this article from EV trade publication Charged. All you really need to know is that this is a best-of-both-worlds solution—Koenigsegg claims the Quark has an industry-leading torque-power-weight ratio. Those peak power and torque figures are only available for 20 seconds, which is common among EV motors. After 20 seconds, the figures drop to 134 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. That's fine for the Gemera, which has three electric motors and a 600-hp three-cylinder."

Etc. Continues in the link.

20 seconds and then the electric power drops vastly. I know the internal combustion takes over, but still.

Anyway it's been reported as going into manufacturing production in 2023. Not long to go. But there are other surprising projects getting delivered next year too!

I mean, well I'll be quiet instead LOL!

1843kg dry!? Mr Koenigsegg did not said on Gemera Reveal the target is 1600kg? For a ultra light 3Cyl full carbone body and best tech battery it's huge no?

I'm not too sure. It's not really on my tracking list, but the battery isn't huge as far as I'm aware, but yes it's heavy most people would think!

Yes same, not really track this one and not a fan of KDD Gearbox like the Regera.

When the batteries, that's IF, they run out of power the car becomes a front wheel drive 500hp car! And yes KDD puts people off. Also since 2019 as a Bugattisti there's been many exchanges. In fact on the 0-400-0km/h Bugatti video Molshiem turned the comments off! Smh.

Oh din't know that but the thing about 0 to 400 km/h was the all point of the Regera.... Evreytime Koenigsegg said "Under 20s for 400 km/h" since 2016 and Never did it. Even today it's 23s i think anyway for me that not what make a car great (Chiron) or even the Regera. The Regera is a Amazing car for sure 100% just not my type. And that why the huge variety of hypercars is so good today choise is huge. Even for the ones that will never have a chance to but it.

BREAKING: Koenigsegg Gemera Drops 3-Cylinder For 2,300-HP V8! (WTF?)

JUL. 07, 2023 11:07 AM ET

And A LOT of torque to boot.

Thanks to the Swedish megacar fanatics at Koenigsegg Registry, exciting new details about the production version of the Koenigsegg Gemera have come to light on the occasion of the niche automaker's new factory opening. The details were shared on Facebook and show Christian von Koenigsegg hosting a presentation against the backdrop of a gorgeously green Gemera with gold wheels.
Besides the fact that this would be the manufacturer's first four-seater, it was also set to introduce a highly innovative 600-horsepower three-cylinder engine called the Tiny Friendly Giant, which makes use of the automaker's Freevalve camshaft-free valve actuation system.
But in a shocking turn of events, it's now been revealed that the Gemera will feature a V8. Disappointed? Don't be. Instead of 1,700 horsepower, the Gemera is now poised to offer up to 2,300 rampaging ponies. Or would that be elk?

Even if the output is measured in metric horsepower, it translates to a scandalous 2,269 bhp. Torque? Instead of 2,583 lb-ft of twist, the production-spec "Mega-GT" is now rated at 2,028 lb-ft. That's less insane, but only in the world of Koenigsegg could 2,000 lb-ft be considered 'less than manic.' The power-to-weight ratio is 0.77 hp per kilogram, which equates to a curb weight of 2,946 kg, or almost 6,500 pounds.

Obviously, this means the figure refers to the power-to-weight ratio of the power unit. What that consists of is unclear, but we can see that the car features a nine-speed transmission. This appears to be based on the Light Speed Transmission (LST) found in the Jesko, but as was the case with the CC850 special edition, the system has been further enhanced as it is now denoted as LSTT. What that second T stands for remains to be seen.

Since this was announced at the opening of a new Koenigsegg facility, it will be just a matter of time before Mr. von Koenigsegg appears on video to explain to us why the car's direction has changed, what improvements have been made to the transmission, and when to expect the car. Whatever the case, a lot has changed since his last update a little more than a year ago.

Buyers will still get seating and luggage space for four, otherworldly doors, and a level of technical brilliance that simply cannot be found anywhere else. We hope this car is done soon, though, as we imagine there may be a new top-speed record in the making for four-seater cars - perfect to go along with the 330-mph effort Koenigsegg is targeting with the Jesko Absolut.

So is it a hybrid still? I assume so given the weight.

I'm assuming electromagnetically operated valves is what 'Freevalve' means.

Hybrid yes, well I think so, triple PLUS the V8? It's very early News.

That weight figure doesn't seem right either. Adding a pair of rear seats, just speaking figuratively, doesn't add over 1000KG to a Koenigsegg Gemera over the Koenigsegg Regera.

I believe this V8 is cost optionally substituted and extra- I need to check. So the triple is still available I think then, so is Freevalve to answer your question.🙂
