This car is shit. Here is why...

It's rare that you'd be putting that kind of load on the car for any duration, but as a comparison, how long can you run the Chiron for at 1500hp before the expensive W16 engine because a big expensive paperweight, sucking on air with nothing to combust it with? 12 Minutes? In fact, off the top of my head, I'm not sure I can think of many cars that can sustain 1500hp delivery for that long, and not many places they could actually do it either.

I'm sure in real world usage the performance is more than capable, and I'd imagine that Koenigsegg have a band of customers that are aware how proven (or not) they are from prior ownership experiences... I mean, I'm no Koenigsegg fan myself, but think the 'shit' declaration is a harsh one.

Front (headlights) remind me Mercedes Project One, rear reminds me Porsche 718, but it looks like this one is the original and others copied. This car looks amazing, I love it. I'd be ashamed to be a BMW i8, haha.

Hey, I am just trying to bring balance to the force. A.P's comment was way too positive . Had to put the car under a more critical gaze!

But yeah, you have a point. Although even then, 12 minutes is still 12x more than 1 minute. And look at it this way. If you were to take a note of the period of time in which you can use all 1500hp, and then the period in which you can only use 128hp - because the other 272hp are being used to charge the battery -, and then calculate the average horsepower you get over the length of whatever journey you are on, it would come out at something like 310hp.

So if you wanted to take full advantage of the car's capabilites often, you would cripple the car's performance overall. While in a Chiron, you could use 1500hp for one full minute, but then still have loads of fuel left to put your foot down whenever you pleased and have access to the full potential of the vehicle - and using it very often would just mean you would have to refuel more often. Which is not at all what you could do in the Koenigsegg because you can't go charge every 5 minutes. Because it's not a real 1500hp car.

Not really, because for one, pretty much every other PHEV gets most of its power from the ICE; the Gemera doesn't. And for two, pretty much every other PHEV gets way bigger battery (not just compared to the power, but bigger in absolute sense) so the vehicle actually works like it's supposed to. But when you marry a giant amount of electric motor power to a very small battery, it doesn't work. It's just pointless show off because you can almost never use all that power and most of the time you are just carrying extra weight around.

And usually the power that the battery can release for a certain period of time is a percentage of its total power. So for 10sec a 15 kW battery can release much less power than a 100 kW battery. I wonder how this small battery can feed 660 kW motors.

The design and creature comforts deserve more credit. It’s a truly unique 4 seater that will be a showstopper anywhere it will be driven.

I have big question marks about the drivetrain, its reliability and overall performance. Other than that, hats off!

For such a small outfit, I am so impressed how much is done in-house. The quirkiness of this car is off the charts, I mean, turbo 2.0L 3cyl rear-placed engine that only powers the front wheels? Nuts!

I was expecting it to be a sedan, but I'm OK with being a four seater. The scissor doors are a very good idea, because it means you don't have to crush yourself to let the rear passenger get out of the car. Anybody who carried people in the backseat of a conventional two door car knows the pain in the ass that it when you have to let the rear passenger go.

My highest respect for Christian Von Koenigsegg and his team for keep on following their passion in cars and pushing forward the boundaries.

The Gemera is an amazing concept and I really whish them the best of luck for production with this project.

This is the first Koenigg I actually can say I really like it. Its quite a pleasing design overall. The front lights and rear may immitate Mercedes and Porsche in some ways, but the rest of the car has some ingenious design touches. I really think the door opening mechanism is work of art and the way the rear seats have been designed to make it spacious and snug at same time with a tiny rear engine is design and engineering perfection. 1700hp and 0-100km/h in 1.9sec, is astonishing.
