Yep, that's a very similar but better looking Jaguar C-X17.

This is the apparently green-lighted already new Opel Monza SUV/crossover, which of course will have badge-engineered Buick and Vauxhall siblings, and will be around 4.8 m long, apparently proper RWD/4WD platformed, with premium-like interior, but with a starting price around €30k, on-sale around the same time as the Jaguar.

Thanks for the contribution! This is really exciting stuff! Based on that Autobild rendering of the Opel, I can plainly see two doors and three tires. Being familiar with the C-X17 Concept, we know that it has four doors and four tires, so in that respect, it appears that the Jaguar will have a leg up on the Opel.

However, and this is just pure speculation on my part, I wonder if Opel has any plans in the works for two additional doors on the passenger side, and maybe there's even a fourth tire obscured from view, which could really make this a game changer! Maybe Autobild was only able to get information on the driver's side of the Opel and thus the rendering is only half-complete? I suspect there also may be plans in the works for some propulsion-type device to be located in that bulky frontal area, sort of in between what appears to be two headlights, but as you said, if it's just been green-lighted, it might be too early to know.

What an exciting time we live in!

Report – Jaguar C-X17 concept presented in Japan [Update - Presented in Goodwood in a red body colour]
Update – The Jaguar C-X17 has been presented the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed in a red coat of paint. The new gallery is attached below the article.

Jaguar Land Rover Japan held a media presentation of the Jaguar C-X17 Concept in Tokyo this week. The C-X17 is also displayed for public viewing at prominent localities in Tokyo and Osaka this month.

The sports crossover vehicle, unveiled last year in Frankfurt, was last seen at the 2014 Auto Expo in Noida in February this year. The version that came after the Frankfurt premiere at Guangzhou in November had an updated rear seat to accommodate three passengers and sported a different body color.

The C-X17, not confirmed for production yet, would use an aluminum monocoque and Jaguar’s new ‘Ingenium’ four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, if approved. In addition, a plug-in hybrid variant may also be offered, but there is no hope of seeing it on the road before 2016.

The C-X17 measures 4718 × 1959 × 1649 mm (length × width × height) with a wheelbase of 2905 mm. It adopts 23-inch wheels, and offers cabin space for five occupants.

Jaguar say the C-X17 “combines the character and driving experience of a sports car with increased presence and flexibility.”

You could add any number of SUVs from the angle you are showing this particular one from and say bar the nose they all look similar. Prime example is the Cayenne, ignore the nose and it's all but identical until you see it from a side profile.

These latest images of the Jag show just how attractive it truly is and when combined with LandRover's technical superiority it should prove to be a winner.

yep, and England will win the World Cup.

Seriously though, JLR's entire research and development activity seems essentially to be going down to B&Q for a new can of paint.

We're nearly half way through 2014 and JLR haven't got a single engine in production that meets the Euro 6 end of 2014 deadline. Are they planning to take fines on the chin, and stop production of some models instead?

Never mind your not even a production model yet, re-launched over and over again C-X17, did you know that Mercedes- Benz's AMG subsidiary employs 700 qualified engineers alone? Not washing machine 'engineers', but ingenieurs.

I'll bet that that is more than is employed by JLR, with the UK equivalent being chartered engineers.

That shows why JLR toss out new paint windowdressing dross like this whilst the Germans get on with churning out dozens and dozens of real new products.

Limping Kitty....Jaguar C-X17 Never good when the driver exits the car on the Nurburgring .....At least I think it is the C-X17....Massive wheel arches.....not seen on the Concept C-X17...More study required...Thanks PalBay

Production-Spec Jaguar C-X17 Won’t Be Dubbed an SUV

Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show 2013, theJaguar C-X17 Sports Crossover Concept previewed an upcoming SUV from the British luxury manufacturer. However, Jaguar has confirmed that the new model won’t be in fact be referred to as an SUV because such models belong with Land Rover.

While speaking about this with Autocar, Jaguar Land Rover boss Ralf Speth said, “A Jaguar SUV is not possible. SUVs and 4x4s are for Land Rover. The Jaguar concept is far more road-orientated. It will need a different kind of name.”

Within the Jaguar Land Rover group, the car is still being referred to as a sports crossover but that name is unlikely to stick for the production car.

While discussing the car further, Speth added, “Of course, it will be a vehicle which looks great and which has a strong stance, but the capability will be very different from a Land Rover. Mike Cross and his vehicle dynamics team will do an extraordinary job to make sure that it is sensational to drive on the road. It will be something special in that regard. Of course, it will not be anything like a sports car, but it will have a very specific character that sets it apart.”

Beneath the skin, the road-going C-X17 will ride on the same aluminium architecture as the XE. It will also be available with similar engines including a selection of petrol and diesel four-cylinders possibly utilising forced induction in the form of twin-turbochargers in top-specification. Thanks to the lightweight architecture, it is hoped the C-X17 will weigh less than the Porsche Macan which it will rival.

Using a new acronym that no one on the street will know of won't make a difference. If it's big bulky, has high ground clearence, AWD and weigh close to 2,000kg then it's an SUV.

Nobody knew what an SUV was a few years ago either, I don't think there much in the way of utility in most so called SUV's today, most are really just high seating position wagons with a different body, so a new term is probably what's needed.
