SF90 [2019-] [Official] Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale

When does this Supertest come out?

Next Supertest (14th June) is Cayman GT4 RS MR, which already has been produced earlier than SF90 XX, so it's justified to also release it earlier.

I guess SF90 XX will be the one after that, probably 12th July...let's see.

I must say I can't wait for that as the expectations are very high

Haven’t Gebhard also testet the normal SF90? Also supertest?

Yes, but there was no full timed Nordschleife lap done. They tried three times, once the car had issues and the other two times there was bad weather.
A shame cause they produced the complete test with all the other data (including Hockenheim GP test and Dyno Run etc. etc.), but Ferrari decided to pull the car back and wait for the SF90 XX and therefore Sport Auto was not allowed to release parts of the test, as this test car had officially been pulled back.

In the next AMS-issue: Test at Hockenheim.

As AMS is the sister mag of Sport Auto, this is the same car and the same data as from Sport Auto..
So maybe the supertest might be out this month actually...would not be the first time they changed their announced Supertest.

Do you guys think it can beat laptime 1:40,8 of Mclaren Senna? For other reference. AMG GT Black Series did 1:43,3. GT3 RS did 1:44,4 and 296 GTB did 1:44,6 laptime.

It should be around that time with Cup 2 R tyres. My guess is 1:41,5.

I also think it is a quite disappointing time...just the same time as the 700hp RWD 991 GT2 RS MR...I expected more from this.

Yes, this is a disappointing time. Didn’t Ferrari send a testcar with 20 engineers this time…?

And yes, Ferrari does send engineers with their test cars but so do most other manufacturers who are chasing really fast lap times...

This also means now that we will not get the Supertest this week, only a Hockenheim Test. I guess the Supertest and Nordschleife Time will follow in July

The Sport Auto Ferrari lap times, etc, have always been relatively reasonable compared to most other magazines. Maybe they just check for BS much more thoroughly than others. 1755kg with CF wheels and all the lightest options (no doubt) - and it's supposed to be 15kg lighter than the base SF90 to begin with - yet some SF90 test cars were magically weighed to be as low as 1698kg (Autocar).

The time does seem relatively slow, but maybe that's just in comparison with the host of fraudulent SF90 tests, some of which actually had it beating the Senna even with the base car.

On Gebhardt's Instagram account the Ferrari crew were cheerfully aplauding, so maybe he went faster than 6:53 laptime which he did with AMG GT Black Series.

Do we know why Senna was never tested at the Nurburgring?
Sport Auto was gonna do a Supertest with Senna, but something changed. This is from the Hockenheimring track test in issue 1-2020 (don't mind Google Translate messing up the word aero for acro):

And another mention of this from Gebhardt's instagram from 2019:

We probably have to thank cough-19 for this. 😞
