To be sure I'll have to ask Sunny what he thinks of this one compared to the F355 Spider, the one that most of us think was the best looking V8 drop-top Ferrari of the modern era.

^Still prefer the F355 spider. This one, the profile looks good, but not a fan of the way the engine cover looks from top - especially that "whale tail" looking part. I am sure it is very innovative and I will appreciate it for that. But as (almost) always, the coupe is what looks way better to me.

What impresses me most is that they chose the hard-top to save weight. Exactly the opposite was usually quoted by automakers for going with SOFT tops instead of hard ones, such as Mercedes (itself a very early adopter of mass-produced hardtops) in its SLS roadster.

When can we expect the 458 Scuderia not the spider one but the coupe ?
2012 or 2013.

2005 F430 - 2007 F430 Scuderia

The folding metal roof is very nice and really innovative (for a mid-engined supercar), and it looks way better than a softtop. But I don't suppose you can operate it on speeds of up to 40 km/h, like you could with the softtop. So that's a big thumbdown right there. It's really annoying to have to stop the car whenever you want to put the roof up or down. And for that reason alone I would prefer a softtop.

You know, I love the 458 and the Spider is brilliantly designed and engineered, but I am starting to feel cold to their offerings as of late. Same thing with the FF...I loved the idea and the design of the car and their AWD system is another engineering piece de resistance but I am feeling ambivalent lately. I think I may need to go see a doctor.

Ferrari seems to turn out new models just like anyone else nowadays, very fast model re-designs keeps the order books full from one generation to the next.
