Significant design changes also planned
Ferrari will allegedly introduce the 458 Italia facelift in March 2015 at the Geneva Motor Show.
The second modern turbocharged Ferrari after the recently introduced California T will be next year's 458 Italia facelift which will allegedly receive the "M458-T" moniker just in time for the Geneva Motor Show set for March. The 570 PS V8 4.5-liter naturally-aspirated engine of the 458 Italia will be replaced with a newly developed twin-turbo V8 generating approximately 679 PS (500 kW).
Developed under the codename 142M, the M458-T will likely be quicker than the 458 Italia which needs 3.6 seconds until 62 mph (100 km/h) and tops out at 196 mph (315 km/h). In addition, the turbocharging technology should also cut fuel consumption and CO2 emissions which currently stand at 13.3 liters / 100 km (17.6 mpg US / 21.2 mpg UK) and 307 g/km, respectively.
Besides the massive power bump, the M458-T will also come with a significantly revised exterior styling, a change imposed by the adoption of turbocharging Also expect to see reshaped front and rear bumpers, updated LED headlights & taillights along with several aerodynamic tweaks. On the inside, the facelifted 458 Italia will likely borrow California T's Harman Kardon infotainment system with support for Apple's CarPlay.
